  • Official NASA National Championships Thread

OK guys, the NASA National Championships begin on Wednesday, so let this thread be the focal point for posts, videos and photos from Miller Motorsports Park.

A lot of TrackHQers already are in Utah. Some are on the way and some are packing right now. You never know what's going to happen, so I hope this thread will be fun and exciting.

It's bucketing down right now. I hope Oli's car has drain holes in the floor.

So the paddock went from half-an-inch-deep to mostly-dry-some-damp-spots in 45 minutes. Now it's pouring again. And I'm hearing rumours that the dyno is reading 5% high.

Whose idea was it to put this track in Utah anyway?

Rain also separates those with rain tires from those without.

1992 Honda (Acura) NSX 5-MT - classic investment I couldn't resist and occasionally drive
2004 Honda S2000 AP2 6-MT - my last track day car (FOR SALE or not, depending on how I feel when I fall out of bed tomorrow morning)
2006 Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution IX MR 6-MT - when I need a backseat, 4-doors, or a real trunk, and still want to haul ass . . .

and ABS and traction/stability/yaw control...(see Richard for the list of evil features)

              On a less funny note.
Do you guys think this gives any real advantage to drivers from place that actually get occasional rain? or does a field of out of control cars negate that and get you back to the best in traffic wins.

Put it this way, I groan when the pacific northwest guys are visiting and it starts raining.

That said, the quick socal guys still tend to do well despite lacking a wet climate at home. Fast drivers are fast. Young drivers are fearless in dad's car.

Aside from their cost I never understood why people race them.

I panic-ordered a set of wets to be delivered to the track. So dry weather is assured.

I arrive at the track around 7pm. Looked up, there is no freaking cloud within 50 miles. You guys are crazy saying there was a thunderstorm earlier with river flowing through paddock
