  • Time Attack WRX, safety - check, aero - check!

Sharing some pics of a recently completed customer's WRX time attack build.

We started with removing weight from the chassis, lots of weight, over 200 Lbs went away!

Then came along the cage with our integrated seat mounts on both sides -

    Got them triangles going places

Cage fits nice and tight so that we can weld the tubing directly to the chassis -

Baby fuel cell installation puts the tank under the passenger side of the back seat.
The container and filler are separated by a sealed enclosure -

With the work inside done we turned our attention to the outside and got cracking on the aero.
The front of the car is dominated by a generously sized 3D splitter w/ CF endplates -

While the rear downforce is provided by an APR GT-1000 swan neck air foil that we did our custom chassis mounts for as well as the end plates -

The uprights are bull nosed and knife edged to reduce drag -

We also fabricated custom vented fenders, vortex generators, tire skirts, Lexan rear windows (internally framed because Subaru likes frameless windows) and a bunch of other small touches around the car -

    Hope you enjoy the gallery!

They are rather effective when the rear window has as steep of an angle as it does on the Subaru.

if you don't mind me asking, who made the front splitter and end plate?

It's a Blackbird Fabworx special, can be replicated for local customers.
I do have the molds for the end plates ready to make a set for you if you need to adapt some to an existing splitter.
