The '89 IMSA GTO Quattro is the one I would most want to see.

The original violent blow off noisemaker.

Aside from their cost I never understood why people race them.
But obviously I just dont get it. -fatbillybob

This weekend Laguna Seca celebrates McLaren.

First track day for my restored imsa gto Camaro.
This M8e (1800lbs and 800hp big block) with shortened M8f body work is my pit partner for the weekend.
With such a bad ass M8 in my pit, just by osmosis my lap times should improve.
These cars share the same size rear tires, 27x14 GY bias ply slicks.

bias ply slicks 25.5x13 and 27x14.

Yeah, the sound is great, but it is actually caused not by the blowoff valve, but from not having one. That is so called compressor surge,or flutter.High pressure air charge from the turbo hits the closed TB and starts to scream

The Kiwi black stig in his M8E/F 9000cc 800hp 1800lb.
                            Best lap in practice 1.21.
He won the Sunday afternoon McLaren race by a straightaway.

I only got 2 half sessions with a weak scavenge pump that would fill the motor with oil after 6 laps.
The dry sump came on the car when I bought it, time to re-do the sump system.
Other than that it seems to perform very well, can't wait to really wring it out this August at Reunion.
In my short weekend of only 12 laps with little effort it turned a 1.39.

Myself and Lance Smith (owner Huntington race cars) the guy that restored the Camaro.
HUNTINGTON-CARS offers excellent value for car collectors and racers, specializing in restoration and preparation for Trans-Am, Grand National, vintage autos, race-rods, hot rods, Can-Am, Greenwood Corvettes.
He provided transportation and service at the track, very helpful.

So does a tubeframe chassis with the bodypanels resembling a camaro make the car still a camaro? Or would it just be an impostor at that point? I've always genuinely wondered.
                              Do you understand?
