  • Wild heat race

Due to an innovative new grid inversion scheme, I got to start from the rear for the sunday heat race. It was exciting. A new record was set.

    Thanks to Race Engineering.

Wow, when you nearly go off in Riverside then the yellow and blue car tries to pass heading into Bus Stop, that was nuts!

Aside from their cost I never understood why people race them.

So what is this new innovative grid inversion scheme? Is it just to invert the grid?

Racers within 2.1s of fastest lap invert, the rest invert. The driver that's 2.2s off is a little disappointed, haha

So around 5th starts 1st and the slowpokes start 6th and 7th and so on.

It was a hoot to have a race that wild with no new dents though.

On the pace lap I said "preserve the car, preserve the car .... make a good video?"

I loved that off by the yellow and blue car at Bus Stop. That looked like a ride.

                Good driving.

Wow, that is a strange system. I can almost see the logic in it (they don't want a wall of slow/inexperienced drivers at the front), but that logic is clouded by the obvious unfairness of splitting the grid into two inverts....

                      LOL at 8:14.

Is this with the new Penske dampers? The cars looks relatively compliant over the bumps and berms.

I've got the penskes, the field is mixed. They seem nice, so far no bumpstop drama at my ride height.

Nice driving, Rob. That was exciting!

What happened in Riverside at about the 8:06 mark? Were your tires going away (grip-wise)?
