I had a SCCA national race today at Buttonwillow yesterday. The race the day prior a braided steel oil cooler line rubbed a hole through my aluminum radiator. I found out that when braided steel meets aluminum, braided steel wins. The air temperature was around 106 degrees, so in lap six when I lost most of my coolant, the computer kicked in and shut me down for that race.
Well, not to be deterred, the folks at Seven's Only helped me fix the leak. Believe it or not, the quick and effective solution was JB Weld! I missed qualifying for my Sunday race due to repairs so I had to start from the back of the pack.
This video is testament to the power of the stock C5 Corvette Z06. Unfortunately the video shut-off after five minutes of racing, but you can see what a blast it was....
