Funny, 2:07.xx over the top is what I was turning in the C6 at track-day speeds (stock motor, lots of suspension/brakes, R888s)... I'm curious to see how the little Miata does this coming weekend (stock motor, suspension, RA1s)! Rain, rain, go away...

Danke. Another 0.1s and I'm faster than Oli in his vette (neener neener). Then there's nothing left to do and I can take up knitting.

But almost everyone is faster than me. Once you beat my time then finally everyone will be faster. (neener neener) ;-)

Thanks Mike. No I'll be at the T1 double national at Buttonwillow running a new config to me 25A CCW. Should be a good turnout of T1 cars there.

T-hill is a corvette's dream track. I'm sure if you tracked with nasa we would have gotten you down to 2:01 at least. Spec miata this weekend? Looks like Rob did a 2:07. Just remember, you won't need to brake just about anywhere except T10 and T14 .

I don't think your car has been up to par lately. Down on power, crappy shocks, etc. Get it set up right and you will be back up front where you belong.

No SM for me. Just PTE. With the current 145Kmi 1.6L motor I'll be a slow moving chicane. And, yeah, it will take some time to re-map my brain from the Corvette and hard braking near everywhere...

God dang. Thats fast Bill. And you even missed a few apexes. But its obvious youre way more comfortable in that car now. I dont see why you wont get into the 49s. Man, your car accelerates hard even in the top end. Looks like that 1yr of working on the car has paid off. Congrats!

Thanks guys, I appreciate it! I'm amazed at how much faster people are getting at these tracks from year to year. It's fun to see people progressing and learning to get the most out of their cars and abilities.

I am especially proud of this lap time because a) I've put a lot of time and effort into setting up this car and b) I had to restrict my intake to cut about 20 hp from my already stock detuned ls6 with 4 years of track duty. I couldn't believe it when I had it dynoed and it put down 380 rwhp on the T-hill dyno a week before the nasa event especially since Oli's and my T1 cars only put down high 350's to 370 a month earlier. It has always been mid 360 to low 370. So I went home and added fuel and cut timing 3 degrees lower than stock hoping to remove 10 hp and put it back on the T-hill dyno the following Friday afternoon before the races. It put down 385 hp! WTF? So I decided to just put in a restrictor and cut one out of lexan and honed it down with Flink's dremel Friday night. Went back on the dyno Sat morning and it put down 366. I thought I was going to have to keep tweaking the restrictor to make it right, but I was lucky and it was perfect the first time! I was pleasantly surprised that the restrictor did not hurt my speeds anywhere except the main straight. This car is heavy, but has tremendous balance and grip in corners. A joy to drive.

Should be a new GTS-3 track record. Data shows I was on a '53 before I hit some traffic. Maybe '52's in the fall?

Yes, that's the fastest GTS3 lap I've heard of. Dave Lang did 1:54.622 in Sunday qual last month. Dave's is still the quickest lap in mylaps - they have you doing a 1:54.719 in Saturday qual?

I'm not sure what's going on with NASA Norcal GTS lap records. AFAIK they only count race session laps. Nobody seems to be actually keeping track of it - Will told me a month or so ago that "err, we're working on it". But Paul Geddings told me that after he did a nice lap at thunderhill late last year, he received a nice little GTS2 lap record certificate in the mail. All very confusing. We need a class Director
