that's interesting...they softened the turn before the front straight, that's easily good for additional 0.5 seconds or more. Also, you can stay flat thru zora's run after the drop...might be a bit nervous, but it should stick if you have heat in the tires. Nice times otherwise! looks like a blast

Guess I should add my own:
    3.1mi: 2:40.967 (Kam Urquhart; '04 S2K no aero; RS3s; 240hp/2950lbs w/driver; Sept/10)
    3.4mi: 2:45.24 (Kam Urquhart; '04 S2K no aero; RA1s; 240hp/2950lbs w/driver; Dec/11)
    4.6lbs / whp -- 4lbs / bhp

nice job! Looks like they soften ego check quite a bit... surprised PCA didn't run the new bus stop or the new section SMMP added.

Thanks! And yes, there's quite a bit more pavement "inside" the original pavement at Ego Check... for the Lotus, it seemed as if the best line was to enter approximately on the old line, and then cross over to the new pavement about halfway through the corner.

I think SMMR was trying to let the surface cure a little more on the new pavement, including the bus stop past the sweeper.

might be good to add in track maps, since identifying the track by the miles isn't really consistent:
    2.2 (original):

    2.4 (bus stop and loop):

2.7 (bowl and loop, no bus stop):

3.1 (no bus stop or loop):

3.4 (no bus stop or loop):

3.4B (no bus stop, with loop):

    3.6 (bus stop and loop):
    4.6lbs / whp -- 4lbs / bhp

The old config that uses the bowl-inner loop and none of the new section by the road isn't listed. Many of us here have run that. I love that slow bowl section but they don't use it much anymore.

Aside from their cost I never understood why people race them.

They usually only run it with the 2.2 config. I love that section too (works great for us with momentum cars). The only other time I've seen them run it (other than the 2.2) is in this config:

    3.9

4 seconds faster than my last best on this config... 2 years of experience plus a bunch of new mods...

I see that Andy Kern's entry for 3.4 includes the bus stop and loop, so it's actually the 3.6 mile config according to the track layouts posted above. Speedventures ran 3.4 last weekend, which was the actual 3.4 - no bus stop, no loop. That's the config my entry is for. The OP might need to be edited to have a 3.6 config.

New times added, but I'm a bit confused about Andy's time/configuration. He posted a 2:32.xxx on the 3.4 and a 2:53.xxx on the 3.5. So, is his 2:32 supposed to be for the 3.6 mile configuration?

Spring Mountain has gone to "names" for their configurations and they have at least 3 variations for each identified track config -- getting a little confusing w/o a map for each config.

For example, Speed Ventures is running a new config listed as "Hunt-B" …… but there's also an "A" and "C" option. It can make you -- :head scratch:
