i actually had the power and weight wrong the first time, the current post is the accurate one. car has always made 550whp, i had the weight wrong, i thought it was 2700lbs dry so thats why i said 2900lbs with me and fuel, but it was actually 2700lbs with me and fuel. Only thing we changed really was the tires( used RS3s to Used Nt01s) and we went with a smaller turbo which we're making the same power with but better response. Another thing was the old time i posted was in 65 degree weather, this past friday was 100 degree weather LOL

Most definitely, 2 turbos with same power and the one with less lag will be faster. What turbo did you run then vs now? 100 deg track days are no fun. Same car, same everything, how much faster are the NT01s?

We were on a Garrett GTX3582, but we werent really in its efficentcy range at that power level. We Switched to the GTX3576 and gained alot of response while still making same peak power because we're in the meat of the turbo's efficency range. Hard to really compair the Rs3s we ran to the NT01s we ran, both where used and the weather was extremely different. Also on that 53.011 lap i messed up the entry of phil hill, it really shouldve been a high to mid 52 but i tried experiementing on entry of that turn and it didnt work out LOL

Have you ever ran the same size of both tires on the same car/setup?

yeah on my focus, about a 1-2 second difference. but i think on lighter cars (FF hondas, miatas) the difference is not as drastic (like less then a second)

Car looks SUPER stable, good stuff. Maybe some more safety equipment in order at those speeds?

Are they going to build the cage to meet nasa/scca safety standards or do more of a custom job for you? Just curious because it looks like you would have a nice TT2/ST2 car in nasa.

I had a visceral negative reaction when I heard the cage is being built by Creations 'n' Chrome. In all fairness I have never heard of them before, but are they going to build a nice blingy streetcar cage that will look all nice and shiny when bent around the driver's torso after a wreck or will it be a professionally built cage for the purpose of protecting the driver.

I apologize for the negativity, but only slightly, as the two worst injuries I have seen at local tracks have been with HPDE/time attack drivers (both young men) AND passengers (both young women) driving cars that had the pretenses of safety, but really they were poorly designed and implemented safety systems that really only had the cosmetic appearance of real race car safety systems. The grave injuries to three of those victims will be with them the rest of their lives. ...And of course one of them doesn't need to worry about the injuries any more.

sorry for the past few replies guys, I don't use forums much. I just found the "replay with quote" anyways yes it will be built to Nasa spec. The cage materials were from Chassis engineering and doing a custom install on it. You can follow my cage build on my facebook page. I've posted 1 picture up so far of the main hoop/harness bar www.facebook.com/willwracing

hey what's up Oli, thanks for your input. These guys are definitely good at what they are doing. check out their build "Top Notch" a fox body mustang. you can check out their work on the car. I definitely trust them to build my page, we went over making sure that it is built to spec.
