    This.

I'm always surprised at how many people want blueprints of our undertrays as if it's something exotic or difficult to fabricate. It's a piece of wood stuck in the front subframe with two cables holding it in place. The air dam is a piece of plastic screwed onto the nose. That's it. Never two alike, no blueprints. Anything fancier than that is up to your individual ingenuity and patience.

Start with the plastic sheet on the nose to determine where the leading edge will be. Cut a piece of 1/4" or 3/8" plywood (birch is a bit stiffer) to cover up everything but the tires swinging around. Leave a "tongue"
of wood to wedge into the subframe between the steering rack mounts. Hang a few cables from somewhere down to the undertray to support it. I think that's it.

Cables and clamping/crimping hardware can also be found at Home Depot Motorsports.

^^As one of those asking for a how-to, I never would have come up with using cables to secure an under tray. I haven't done much fabricating and 0 aero mods in my life so I'm a little apprehensive especially when you're not sure if the mod is reversible.

My Miata is the first car I've ever modified in my life and that I've done more than change oils and brake pads. I've found lots of how-tos along the way.

I signed up when registration opened and signed up for Red.
Reason being that especially in this event you're going to have a bunch of people that don't belong in their run groups because of Sevenstock...

Don't worry, by afternoon the track will be clear in every run group because all the rx-7s will have retired in the morning.

Going to try and make this weekend. Won't be in SPM but will be there for MC. Sounds like Green is the way to go.

Dunno. Hardly ever drive green, or red for that matter. Red has always seemed to be a no-whine zone. Aaron
lets the group self police to some extent I think. If you suck, you're voted off the island.

I hate to say it but I'm part of the corvette mafia. The corvette challenge, when run, most of the guys run Red. Someone in that group always seems to complain that any other car, not being a corvette, should move over. I think those kinds of drivers should just learn to pass.

Maybe I'm more tolerant of other drivers doing whatever they want since I race with Oli.

I guess that's the difference. The guys that have some w2w experience, whether high or low power, tend to be a bit more relaxed about traffic.
Finding a spot to get one clean lap for qualifying in the only chance you 'll get all day?
Getting past slower/lapped traffic while defending your position?
Passing two cars at a time?
Passing slower cars in places they don't expect anyone to try a pass?
Making a vague, semi blocking manouever on a straight to keep a higher powered car behind until you can check out in the twisties.

    It's what we do. meh.
