I don't have a problem with first posts to the for sale section.

Well we will never grow this site and its braintrust by driving away members. A high and mighty stance with this new user and a similar ribbing of the guy with 3 posts about brake pads, will drive people away. After the sarcasim the op of the brakepad post never returned. Maybe he just had a brainfade post? I'd rather see posts asking the OP of this thread to tell us more about his spec box and about his return to formula car racing.

Yes, definitely a good idea to welcome people to the community.

I felt that the brake pad post ribbing was all in good fun. It was obviously just a mistake, so its not like we were making fun of something really serious like their car. We have to wait until we know what car they have before we can do that!

I am glad that the members Olitho, Bellwilliam and Markn noticed this emoticon in my post -> And probably thought for the good 'ol times for a second
In any case, if you are asking $32 grand for something, there is a big chance the potential buyers will take you seriously if you present yourself with a few words. OTOH i dont believe that someone with a first post for sale and contains 2 links will be interested in our community. Anyhow, his ad got a decent exposure, so nothing to be upset.

I agree! There is no malice in any of those posts on either thread. But those new guys don't know how we are all like friends here and bust each other's chops. Maybe I'm a bit too sensitive. Even a tough mudder like me has a soft side...
