Default Driving School, Nov 7-8, 2015, Streets of Willow, All Levels of Experience

We have opened up registration for our fall driving school at the Streets of Willow. Whether you are a seasoned racer, or have never driven a car on a track, we have a group for you. Two full days of track, skid pad, and classroom time. We guarantee you will get a good night's sleep every night of the school!

Beginners will learn basic car control, such as understeer and oversteer, the track "driving line", spin recovery, threshold braking, safety aspects, and more. Time Trial drivers will learn more about car setup and control, driving lines, and more, with the goal of squeezing a little more out of their lap times. Racers will focus on racing strategies, track driving in close quarters, practice races, and LOTS and LOTS of rolling starts!

You can get more information or register here

I would REALLY like to see some more of the "open track" or "track day" drivers in our school.

I see lots of great looking, well set up cars being driven by people that honestly, are pretty crappy drivers. Sure, they turn in some decent times, but more often than not, it is the car that is making it happen, and the driver is just there to push the pedals.

For school it would be cool if there was enough time to do a grad race Saturday and Sunday. Saturday do streets CW fasters cars closer to pole shorter race. Sunday streets run CCW reverse grid bit longer race.

We do grad races on Sunday running CCW with the bowl included. We could look at some racing on Saturday after the normal class sessions. That said, most of the other students are pretty beat at the end of each day, especially the first timers. They get a lot of seat time each day. My brother did the school back in February, and he cut some of his sessions short. He was pretty tired.

We dont do standing starts for the race group, but that does not say that will never happen. If we had a group of Spec guys and Super Miata guys then we could possibly incorporate them for that group. We just cant have a new fender to fender racer doing a standing start when in the beginning most struggle with a rolling start.

Hope to see you at the track.

There are a few weeks to go for this school, but it will be a sell out. Sign up now to ensure your spot. We are hooping for rain and chances look good, what better way to learn than in the rain.

There is still plenty of room available. Come to this event to get your last little bit of time out of yourself and your car before the chuckwalla event following a couple weeks after. Also this is a good event to get your wet training underneath of you, better to learn here than at a regular track event.

    See you at the track.

Maybe we should offer a discount to Extreme Speed members. Some of them could really benefit from some structured instruction.

In looking at the weather forecast for the school weekend, it looks to be nice. Should be around 70 with no chance of rain(bummer), and light breeze. There is plenty of room in all groups so sign up today.

We have plenty of room in the wheel to wheel group. The few that have signed up are experienced so if we get more experienced drivers we may accelerate and have more mock races thru the weekend and not limit them to Sunday only.

Everyone will have 4hrs of on track, 4hrs of skidpad, 4 hrs of classroom discussion.

    See you at the track.

    Default We got variety

Looking at the registration list, as usual, we have a variety of cars:
    3 Honda S2000
    7 BMWs
    Acura NSX
A LINCOLN TOWN CAR - I gotta drive that one
    A bunch of Miatas
    Cadilac CTS-V Wagon
I hope this is not a typo: 2015 Lambourghini I WIL AT LEAST GET A RIDE ALONG.
Another Italian representative - Fiat 500 Abarth
And a bunch of others: Mustangs, Porsches, Lexus, Mercedes

I see a few people are sharing a car. No problem with our School. We make sure that both drivers get the same amount of track time as all the others.
There is less than 2 weeks to get signed up so get your registration in now.

    See you at the track,
    Paul - AROSC Instructor

AROSC puts on a great race school. The wheel-to-wheel group does a fantastic job of slowly working up to getting used to driving in close proximity to other cars. We did countless race starts last year, and they are great about shuffling the grid each time so there is lots of passing.

Another benefit for the Nov 7-8 event is that you can pop over to WSIR to see all of us at the vintage race if you have a few extra minutes. Its a great rolling car show.
