Default NASA WERC Round 2 - Great Turnout!

Team SRC was sidelined due to a motor meltdown but had a ton of fun Saturday night watching round 2 of the WERC Endurance race!

With over 35 cars taken the green flag, it was a blast to watch groups of cars duke it out all night. Really close racing right up to the very end!

Tyler D. drove the entire race in a PTE prepped car to be 5th overall in E3 with a 1:min lead of 6th overall also in a E3... what a race!

    Cheers, See you in June!

As much work as it was to do that race, I'm already thinking about the June enduro. I learned a ton last weekend.

Any fun runners in that mix? 35 is a great turnout. Were you in Crusher?

I believe here were four races going on:

    WERC, 3 hours
    USTCC, 1 hour
    Boneyard, 3 hours (I think)
    1-hour bonus sprint race

emilio... I wish I could blame it on so many other things but I left the rad cap lose... Melted down the motor 1st thing Saturday AM by 8:30. I know, I know, total bonehead move and even worse was I told myself to check it and then totally forgot to... Blah! Yes I will have a pressure light from now on!

BUT before that, Crusher felt really good. Solid car, I was smiling from ear to ear

Wait, so the new junkyard class runs with the legit racecars?
I don't know how I would feel about that if I ran my $50-100-150k racecar next to some POS that no one cares if it ended the race looking like it belongs in a junk yard..
Cheapens the experience too, I imagine.

Argh. One driver on our team has BTDT. We know how that feels. Cool to see the car running again.

Well that sucks. The nice thing about hood vents is that your windshield gets sprayed when this sort of thing is happening. I dunno if they help with aero at all, but they saved at least one engine for me.

The 2 BY cars where a Toyota race car from Willow Springs school car and a E30, so they where not POS by any means. The Idea is to bring back some of the older cars from SCCA and NASA days that are still fun to race just not completive or up to date with current shocks, motor, etc..

POS... Lemons has that market covered

Not buying it.. looks to me like an attempt to offer an alternative to Lemons / Chumpcar POS racing minus the circus.
Both series enjoy far higher expansion rates that anything NASA or SCCA came up in recent years, this bites into the market and I don't blame NASA for making any moves into trying to recapture some of the market back by offering some transitional series for Lemons / Chumpcar racers to bring them in and hopefully convert them to something else in the classing structure in the future.

This, however, has all the potential for someone who put some cubic dollars into their racecar to find themselves running door to door with some POS, maybe not in the last race, but certainly a possibility in future races.
Not sure if I dig that..
    JMHO.

He did, then changed his plans for racing/career and sold it to Shawn. It get's even stranger. William just bought Shawn's old car (NA8) as a roller. It might become a boneyard racer.
