Our "light brackets" came back from powdercoating on Friday and we had chance to get lights mounted up. This will be our configuration for our first (night) enduranace race and then we will make any adjustments needed. Main lamps comprised of 28 5-watt CREE LEDs for a total of 140 watts (11 amps) per light. "Apex" lights have 6 CREE LEDs per side. Left and right side lights each on their own relay (endurance racing precaution - lol).

Note: Camera angle is deceiving. We have a lot of clearance (~3.5" at full lock) for suspension motion.

Results of new light package at NASA Willow 3 Hr night enduro.

200 Watts of Baja Designs lights rated at over 20,000 lumens.
80 watts spot forward in 10 degree fan. Inadequate going into turn 8 at 200 feet/second.
Maybe not enough light or maybe pointed wrong.
Directional settings in the street do not translate to on track experience.
Need to do testing at night on the track to get elevation and angles right.
Light package OK for the rest of the track.
Reflectors in turn 9 made lighting not so critical there.

Baja Designs have the most lumens / watt of any lights I've tested. And they're made in California.
They like to run cool. LED thermal protection reduces output with temperature increase.

I lurk here a lot, so as usual I'm in the dark shadows. Those lights look awesome!

    Default Comparison

Comparison of my NP01 light package to Exocet
Same wattage, different beam pattern. About 1 foot mounting height difference.
