    Is it really though?

Looks like Ronald McDonald himself pilots it.
    Do you understand?

That's a poor statement. What does spec racing have to do with a car for sale that's fishing for suckers?

Bonneville speed record. Maybe we should build a car for that. 200mph in Miata!
    SuperMiata

Aside from their cost I never understood why people race them.
But obviously I just dont get it. -fatbillybob

Maybe Bonneville should consolidate its classes so they don't have to give out so many trophies . . .

Do they have a motorhome-towing-race-car class? I averaged 71 across the salt flats last weekend. Only coz I was chasing redtopz who has a cheater diesel engine.

The classing isn't as crazy as it sounds. Well, any less crazy that being there. And it's something everyone should do at least once. The scale is just immense. Because it's so flat, on the 'long course' cars actually start their run well over the horizon. The paddock is a mile long. Literally. It runs alngside the course from mile marker 3 to mile marker 4 (the long course is 5 miles plus deceleration area).

There's something really cool about LSR cars and the know how that goes into making them go really fast on the salt flats.
The setup is so unique and at times counter intuitive... I'd like to try it one day.
