People locally here know the condition of these cars. "Tired" seems to be the popular term, though not surprising I suppose. SBRS has worn out a few resources in and around the region, though sad to see it end many are surprised they lasted as long as they have.

You don't want to buy a used rental car. For the same reasons, you don't want a used rental racecar.

Photos linky Skip Barber Photos - Liquid Asset PartnersLiquid Asset Partners
Just called the group selling the assets. Sale begins Aug 29 in Braselton, GA. "Negotiated Sale" terms. I guess that means you just fly to GA and haggle.

Some of the cars are in California to be sold through Mecum auctions next week.

I might be interested in one of the S550 Mustang school cars if it's cheap enough. If they ask KBB for it, forget it. I'd pay maybe 40% of KBB equivalent value.

A few of the pics on their page:

Sad. I did the Skippy 3-day MX-5 Racing School at Laguna Seca back in early 2008. The cars were good back then.

Any word on if someone has plans to resurrect the school with new management and new cars?

I would take one of the NCs, if the price was reasonable.

I haven't heard of anyone Picking up the torch. I know the SBRS had recently moved to AMP (Atlanta Motorsports Park). AMP is more or less a country club sort of track, not unlike Chuckwalla.

Using the words "county club" and "Chuckwalla" in the same sentence is hysterical. LOL

AMP compared to RA is like a country club. The facilities at RA are lacking, for lack of a better term. AMP has really nice, modern facilities. AC'd lounges, a viewing mezzanine, fully stocked pro shop, clean bathrooms and showers, wifi, AC compressors, etc. RA is like a campground with a road around it.

Looks like some of the SBRS instructors went out on their own.

Just an update, but I had a few acquaintances and friends go see the inventory. I was surprised what one said about the racks of engines, paricularly of the Miata NC variety. I was more curious to hear the same friend ran the VINs on the cars he was interested in and the titles were bank-owned (BoA). Another friend posted pics of a red NC2/3 club sport with a bad transmission and some obvious track distressing for $9500. :|. Other images of cars I saw were basically pretty rough ( "hammered dog ****e" was the vernacular IIRC).
