    Default Chevrolet Camaro GT4

Despite my reservations about the new Camaro, this car looks really good in serious race trim. I guess it's growing on me.

Word is it was developed with Pratt and Miller and that Blackdog Speed Shop will enter a pair of Camaro GT4.Rs for Lawson Aschenbach and Tony Gaples at St. Pete. Stevenson Motorsports is set to debut the car in Continental Tire Challenge competition at Circuit of The Americas in May.

There's also room for this car in GT4 in Europe. It should be exciting to see how it does against the usual GT4 cars. I can find nothing on the car on the GM media website, just a smattering of stories around the web.

Someone tell Dodge to whip up a GT4 Challenger then get Transam to go back to it's roots.

mmmmmm GT4 Mustangs, Camaros and Challengers banging doors on road courses all over America, I'd watch the hell out of that.

I would settle for a 3100lb Camaro with the 6.2L DI C7 engine, 6 spd manual, A/C but bare bones Porsche GT3 style interior. That will never happen of course. Too many muscle car fans that will buy a 3800lb "sports coupe"

Aside from their cost I never understood why people race them.

Shoot! Are you kidding I'd race that! I think us low level guys in SCCA are legal to race in TA. I think the barrier to entry is low.

The skill barrier might be low but the cost barrier isn't.

I guess you have not checked into Trans Am in the last few years? TA2 offers Challengers, Mustangs, and Camaros right now, and at a much lower price point than an FIA GT4 spec car.

    TA2 Class, powered by AEM

A number of Club level guys run in the series, the class is huge. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QW6OKxWsV78

I have, but tube chassis cars with different skins, might as well all be the same. The racing does look close and I'm sure its cheaper than homologated production based cars, but I'd still rather see production based racing.

Did you get all your paperwork in? I looked into it. I couldn't believe the mountain of documents and forms required. That and the cost. Holy cow.
