    Default 225/45 & 245/40/15 Maxxis RC-1

We've been hiding these for a while now. Testing completed a few months ago, green light for production and boom, they're here. Squished but will work on 9's but really happiest on 10's.
It's been many years waiting for this tire to make it to production and it's finally here. Available from the Maxxis e-store Nov 24th. The 225/45/15 went live two weeks ago. Automotive, Victra RC-1*

For those of you not familiar with the RC-1, it compares closest to the Nitto NT-01. The RC-1 is a bit faster, particularly when it's cooler. 100 treadwear rating. The 225/15/15 size is the spec tire for SuperMiata. We have experienced incredibly good wear characteristics. Just the thing to control costs in W2W racing. The 245/40 is kind of a big deal because nothing wider than a 225 has ever been available that wasn't a $300 Hoosier that lasts barely two weekends. For all those cars built around a 22.8 ~23" tall tire (185/60/14 -195/50/15 - 205/50/15) with some power now have a tire that will allow them to use that power without killing the racing budget. Awesome!

    YES! Pleeeese a 315/35-17!!!!

I will run Maxxis exclusively if they get that tire size.

Am also available to tire test!!

Contacted Maxxis, they said they would consider it, probably not likely.

Here is the guy to contact: John Wu <jwu@maxxis.com>

Can't really drive on these to the track like the NT01, right? They look more like a slick with a DOT badge.

In California, tread patterns serve no purpose other than brand identity..

Assuming that since "particularly when it's cooler" was still mentioned that the added size/mass didn't help much with losing grip vs NT-01's when its hot (80F +) right?

True but if you get in an accident on the way to the track the cops won't believe that your bald tires didn't contribute to the accident. When I had my NC miata a cop pulled me over coming home from Buttonwillow and hassled me about my semi bald RA1s.

I have a trailer but I hate towing and so I am forced to run tires with thread.
