Yea. Pratt is the guy who was involved in that crazy finish at Road America last year, totally destroying his and his opponents car. Guy seems to be a menace.

Bump-drafting someone on the straight is a bit douchey but at least not insane. Hitting him again in T1 when his car is light and his tires are fully loaded is just demented

Three (sometimes 4) of us spent about seven hours today getting the car vaguely presentable and getting the wheels pointing in approximately similar directions.

Bill will do a hardship lap at 8:40 and fingers crossed he'll be good for the GT2 race at 11:30. He is way underpowered for GT2 - that was mainly a hey-lets-do-it-as-well-for-fun thing. But he's still P5 of 15+ cars.

It's been a pretty sucky week really. All six T1 and GT2 qualifying sessions were a cluster due to wrecked cars, oiled track etc. He's due for an epic 40 minute clean battle!

Oh com'n guys, engines going kablooie is the second greatest risk in this sport, after the first greatest risk, which is driver personal injury. Risk #2 happens about 1,000 times more often than risk #1 . . . Thankfully

Speaking of engines going kablooey... looks like the guy who does my alignments qualified in 6th place for SM... and ended up putting in one lap before he was done for the day.
No idea what happened but man... rough luck.

SCCA T1 Runoffs Crashes and My Broken Valve Spring End

    --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Here you can see the melee known as the start of the 2014 SCCA T1 Runoffs Race. There are two incidents. The first one you can see easily between Preston Calvert in the red Corvette and Mark Boden in the BMW. As I crest the top of Turn One you can see on the right the orange Mustang of Pratt Cole in the tire smoke cloud. Center screen and track left you can see Bill Brinkop spinning into the kitty litter outside the Turn Two apex. Bill got robbed. He has a strong P1 time and even before qualifying Sports Car magazine predicted him the winner. I knew Pratt Cole would be a risky menace and unfortunately I was right.

Six laps later you can see my engine quietly and peacefully pass away exiting Turn Four. I broke a valve spring and that was the end for my Runoffs before I even got to race GT2.

Sorry to hear about the broken engine Oli. You never seem to have a good run at SCCA or NASA nationals, not worthy of your driving ability anyways.

Meanwhile, the SCCA live site of STL starts in a few minutes. Go Oscar!

btw, I see Speedcast is sucking at keeping their site up (the stream is fine, but at times their website i down).

But it appears if you go to ustream.tv and search for scca runoffs, you can pick up the stream (Speedcast is using ustream) without worrying about their container.

We lost the engine. Unlike Oli, we have no spare cylinders onboard. Congrats to Cliff Ira on the STL win

That sucks! Soon I am watching my GT2 race, the one was looking forward to the most... and then driving home. Everything is loaded and ready to go.

Kyle Kelley is almost a shoe in for the GT1 podium tomorrow unless something bad strikes. I expect him to be second or win.
