I know I ain't the right Billy..... but imho, 2018 PP2 is priced at GT350 level.... so I would still take GT350's Tremec (PP2 has the Chinese made crap transmission) and 8,250rpm.

Been working on it for a while. It's the ultimate 'base mustang' for lap times. GT350 makes more downforce and keep in mind the stock PSS aren't "off the shelf" PSSs. They're 'bespoke' to the GT350 and better than the "OTS" PSS, but so are the Cup2s. GT350 has way more power, better trans, trans/diff/oil coolers, and would make for a better track day car..

Sonny just did a 1.52.2 at BRP #13CW at GTA in a GT350.

mods are replica R wheels (not carbon), crash bolts, splitter and spoiler plus Goodyear F1 (Camaro 1LE tires, was cheaper than Sport Cup 2), basically a GT350R spec. later in the day, he did remove passenger seat and rear seat, but didn't go faster.

    That's pretty impressive for a stock $60k car !!!

Well an R is as fast as a 991.1 GT3 on most tracks.

    R aero, rs4, I'd bet sub 55. I'd guess an R at a 52-54.
I guess I was pretty close. So did the track pick up 1-2 seconds over the past 4-5 years? Was some of it repaved?

I think it got about a second faster when it was repaved about 3-4 years ago. IIRC it was not a full repave but just sealant in some spots.
The area that seemed to gain the most was Cotton corners. That used to be pretty chewed-up and patched.

Aside from their cost I never understood why people race them.

What are crashbolts? Are those adjusters to lower the overall rideheight of the car? What is the track weapon height of the Mustang chassis? I have a crazy problem. The limiting thing for me getting one of these is the vehicle overall height! Ford lists the GT at 54.5" and the 350GT at 54". I have a door opening height for the transporter of 52" max. So I wonder what the overall height is when you guys track these cars. Are you lowering them an inch or so and changing heights due to race tire choices? I guess I could deflate the tires perhaps and get under 52" but then my crew chief has to remember to do that or I get a dent in my roof and being a pain to air up the tires inside the transporter the tire sidewalls will be damaged transporting around sitting like that sometimes for a month or more. Any ideas?

Lower strut to spindle bolts. Smaller diameter to provide a bit more camber. Body shops use them to re align crash damaged cars that are tweaked, hence the term.
Ours is stock ride height. R is a skosh lower from both shorter tires and springs.

Race teams have stanced rubber-band tires on 18" wheels to make them fit in trailers.

They look like so much fun to drive out of the box with very little mods needed. Looking at a new track car and this keeps running through my head. And seeing out at GTA in its natural habitat ... decisions ...decisions ...

Emilio - what was your best time with same setup? I'm in total admiration for mad skills like Sonny.... it's one thing to drive near the limit with your own car and quite another to do it with a friend's car.

I didn't drive it at Super Lap. Historically, Sonny and I are pretty close in Qualifying when in equal cars. He had full dispensation for flat out. A bent RF wheel and scorched tires attest to the vigor with which he piloted the car.
Also, Sonny works for me. His "job" was to place as high as possible. Nothing was left on the table, that's for sure. The dirty interior bears silent witness

Those replica R wheels are pretty weak.

They are as strong as a typical low pressure cast, flow formed, T-6 heat treated VIA approved wheel. Which is to say, pretty damn strong. Obviously not going to be as strong as a full carbon-fiber wheel.
One design consideration on the GT350 wheel in particular is the unusually close proximity of the caliper to the barrel of the wheel. OEM GT350 is over built for TUV certification and has about .120 clearance. All 6UL wheels are designed with at least .120 clearance to target brake assembly
The P6GR wheel we bent was only .090 when new. Considering how much wheels flex, particularly on a fast heavy car like the GT350, we felt that increasing brake clearance was prudent. So we did. Track wheels get bent, thats a fact of life.

Max load rating for the OEM wheel and the P6GR is industry standard for that pcd, 680kg. We added 10% to that for the 6UL to 770kg. We hope to improve the useful service life of the 6UL on the S550 chassis when compared to other offerings.

How much camber adjustability does the car have on stock hardware? How much did you get with the camber bolts?

Maybe in the front you can copy the FR350S system for camber adjustment.
