Time to get those roll bars installed for GT350/R's that are starting to see more track time!

Price actually have gone up after Ford say it is making only 1/2 of the cars in 2018. And discontinues after that.
Rumor is 2019 on, it is GT500. With regular Coyote engine but supercharged. Back to its muscle car root.
Spot on with this, but I have to quibble with "muscle car root." The GT350 was the first performance variant Mustang. It was a road racer first. The big cubes came later. Though I admit, most people do associate it with muscle cars now. (unfortunately IMO. )

Sorry, just a pet peeve of mine. It's a losing battle, I know.

The original Camaro and Mustang were both inline 6's and 3 speeds.

I agree, Munstangs and Camaros are pony cars, not muscle cars but I do see the muscle car monicker used even by the automotive press.

Something we are working on. This is a CAD rendering of an early engineering version of the 19x11.5 6UL for the GT350. Final wheel will be slightly different and of course, shiny.

We're moving quickly on this and hope to have pre production samples by November and wheels on the shelf by late January or so.

    Wasn't pushing 100%. Medium hot day. 1:31.1
Drove an SS 1LE just after this. Also a very good car.
I didn't push the 1LE hard either. Someone else's car, no real safety gear and the owner had already gone off once that day. I did two slow laps talking to him showing the line, hand position, timing of pedal inputs and then did two laps at around 8/10ths.

305/30 Hankook RS4. Otherwise bone stock. Randy Pobst did a 1:28 in a GT350R (305/315 PSC2) so mine should be capable of about the same in ideal weather when pushed.

I don't think the RS4 is so much better than the PSC2 to make up for the aero difference.

..and Randy's time is probably well over a second off pace due to improper (high) tire pressures, and he only did a handful of laps, unlike you who does sessions to get the most out of the car and tire.

I did 6 laps in total yesterday. If you are inferring I was "getting the most out of the car and tire" yesterday, you are incorrect. I didn't bring a pyro or pressure gauge. Didn't track out on every turn and generally drove conservatively for the 6 laps I did, only 3 of which were without significant traffic.
Just as the cars sat yesterday, a motivated driver such as yourself, could have gone 1.5s faster easy. I just wasn't motivated to push that hard, preferring to keep it out of the dirt and save the tires.

And Randy doesn't do much more than that, and ran way too high of pressure. So both your time and his R time leaves lot on the table and as I said, the RS4 is highly unlikely to be so much better than a PSC2 (if at all) to make up the aero difference between the TP & R. Don't underestimate the R's aero

Having never run the PSC2 I can only guesstimate. You're probably the only one here that has driven both and knows how to evaluate a tire. Any idea what the downforce difference is between the two at say 100 or 150mph?

I though I read somewhere that the GT350 makes about 100lbs at 100mph or something like that. Not much, but no lift. Even a little aero definitely a factor at WSIR with avg speeds for the lap hovering at 100mph. As always, too many variables to create a useful data point but the key takeaway for me is that it's a genuine sub 1:30 car at WSIR in ideal weather.
    That impresses this Miata driver

The RS3, RS4, RE71R, AD08R, PSC2 are all in the same "class" with different strengths and weaknesses and operating temperature, as you know. The PSC2 holds up to heavy cars and hot days better than an RE71R and more like the RS3/4. I have not driven the RS4, but having driven the RS3, without backing them to the PSC2, it's impossible to tell. Having been apart of the tire development of the R & 350, and going through countless different compounds, carcass construction, tread design, etc... Of the PSC2 to fine tune it for the GT350R, I would be very surprised if an off the shelf RS4 were faster than these custom PSC2 tires.

Even in 60mph corners, you can feel the difference of your TP spoiler, if you removed it. Same thing for the R splitter and especially the R wing. You don't need to be going 100mph to get benefits from aero. The R aero is worth SECOND(S) over the GT350 aero on most tracks.

I have been thinking about having the replica R aero but am worried that it will make it even more of a theft magnet than it already is. Oh well, it is insured and has a GPS beacon.
