Shop is in Austin Tx. Yeah the white NA and shop was on tuned awhile ago.

The trans is a stock 6speed (old one too). I just ordered all the parts to update it to the new 3-4 shift fork/ slider. I will be doing some tricks while I have it out for longevity and to keep the temp down. I fully expect to munch something in the trans at some point but it seems to hold up fine. I expect the issues to be few and far between.

I tore down my trans and diff to swap out the final drive and get the gears REM'd. Got them back today so I spent the day building the trans.
When I tore them down I found no signs of wear so I think it will last for quite some time at this power.

    Comparison shot

Tack welded the shift adj so it wont move.

    Next up is the diff

Yes. All trans gears and diff R&P got the REM treatment.

I have been working on the car a bit. Still a work in progress. I'll let the pictures do the talking.

The last bits for the splitter came in so I put in on one last time.

Then I got the last bit of the wing done today. I got the wing damaged 2nd hand so I fixed the broken bits. This was sanded down flat and spot painted black after this.

I curiously put the car on the scales after all the changes to see where it is.

    Recipe for perfection:

Equal parts persistence, passion, ability, and vision.

A combination of any three is all too rare.

    All four is inspirational.

I'm not even a Miata guy, but this is one of my favorite builds I've ever seen. I'm just bumping this thread hoping you will follow up with some on track video.

Well I did a pretty lazy test last week so the Gopros went dead after 3min but i'll be back soon. I have a few videos on the FB page www.facebook.com/TXTrackNC.
To post a update after trying out the new bits. It all works quite well and has settled the car down quite a bit. It puts power down on exit so well now I never even turned the traction control on. I was surprised how much it made a difference in the slower corners. Took around 3sec off the lap times. It does had a push in the slower sections now so i'll be making changes to cure that.

All the force pushing down on the rear created more squat than I was expecting. I need to make some adjustments to keep running at such a bumpy track.

So I installed shock travel sensors that i'll be using as a more basic purpose of measuring ride height and compression. I will be adding some rear ride height, putting the rear sway back on, and possibly playing with spring rate.

Nothing new to add really right now. A few small updates on FB at tx track nc but i've been playing with my viperTA and Civic TypeR waiting for a new motor/trans to put in the NC.

Did you install a new engine and transmission? If so, what did you use this time?
