    Default NC track car build

The time has come to put up or shut up with the build I've had in my head for the last year. I have been picturing a car that will keep up with a gt3 at the track and still drive home. I might do some "racing" with it but W2W isn't my thing. Really I just want to go fast. Talking over with anyone who would listen for months I'm sure they are all tired of it. Time to stop talking about it and dive in. Sorry for the cell phone pics.

Got some parts back from powder coat today.

I made a dump tube, drilled the wategate bolts, and tacked the nuts to the clamps for easy install.

Got some clear on it this morning.

After I sprayed the rear wells with some undercoat.

Started installing new body clips and covering holes.

You've been a busy lil beaver haven't you? Very nice build! But I have to ask. With all this beautiful work on a car that is clearly going to be fast as hell. Why did you only put in a roll bar?
That's not a Typo, I just can't spell no so well.

I will guess that it has no cage because it will also be a street car. Of course, there might not be a stock seat belt or air bag when all is said and done, making concern over a cage seem a little misplaced. To each his own tho. Ive ran a harness in a bucket seat for years. Maybe we went roll bar to save weight?

maybe it's the picture but the clearances between the intercooler piping and the frame look a little tight.

You guys are both right. It's a street car, weight, and the car will never see wheel to wheel racing. The clamps on the IC pipes were not tight. They should clear fine when all is said and done.

Wow, looks like a really cool build. How far off of the price of a used GT3 will you be when done? Are you sticking with a 2.0 or are you going to put in a 2.5 bottom end?

Good choice of electronics! I can recommend Shane T as your tuner when ready. He is fantastic.

I wasn't trying to be a d!ck, that wasn't my intention. I applaud the effort, but it looks like a bunch of money. I'm happy to see more NCs being developed, I think they're better cars than the credit they've been given.

Ha it should be quite a bit faster than a gt3 now a cup car on the other hand... it's all hearsay until it goes to the track.
The motor will be a 2.5L with gtx 3076 turbo.
I worked on it a bit more today. Put RX-8 brakes all around. Rx-8 hubs so I can use RX-8 ABS, axles and diff.

Going to give the ASTs a try first.

Sticking with the RX-8 floating calipers or are those just for mocking up?

Beautiful build. That's what $90k worth of track toy looks like.

Aside from their cost I never understood why people race them.

RX-8 calipers for now as I have yet to find any big brake kits besides WillWood that don't require different wheels cough Emilio...
