Default TrackHQ iRacing League - Season 1

Here we go. The OFFICIAL (and I stress OFFICIAL!) TrackHQ.Com iRacing Series Season 1 launch. Inaugural event 2/4 8pm.

    Tentative calendar at:

    http://www.google.com/calendar/rende...94+23094+23094

Same car / config as we have been running: MX-5 Cup, fixed config, all driver aids allowed. You must be a verified TrackHQ.Com member.

The TrackHQ.Com iRacing series will use the iRacing Grand Prix scoring system.

Six race season as I have a short attention span. Every Wed at 8 pm for six weeks starting 2/4.

I've tried to keep the race calendar based around the base package tracks in order to get as much participation as possible but there are not many to choose from. I had to sneak one or two optional tracks in to keep it interesting.

Series rules (including incident management measures) and purse information forthcoming. There will be a tow fund based on participation (paid in iRacing credits at the end of the season) to help fund those tracks that are not included with the base package for those who don't own particular tracks.

Please post your ideas regarding rules and incident management as there is not a lot of time to put them in place.

Also looking for sponsors. ICM is clearly on board. What say you 949, THQ, SRC, WeekendRacer, Blackbird Fabworx, and others? Yes. You've been called out.

Looking forward to more racing with everyone.

Side note - if anyone's bored tomorrow morning, tune in to Twitch.tv/Gorbash91 from 8am~9:30am to watch me start a "24hrs of Daytona" iRace. 8 or so guys from the league I race in put a team together for this event, it's 24 hours, has 4 classes (Prototype, DP, Le Mans, GTD), should be fun. I have the fun job of starting the race for our team, and I'll do two or three full tanks worth of driving in the BMW Z4 GT3 for my first stint. Job #1 will be to keep it on the track!

I apologize for the lack of more info on this. Things are a bit hectic in the shop right now so not much time for extracurricular activities.

First things first though, I need to get home in time tonight for the 8:00 event. Just got some new CSR V2 pedals so should be interesting. Still in box so I'll be breaking them in tonight.

Sorry. Haven't been on here much. Cars are filling the shop which is a good thing. No practice for tomorrow either it looks like. Woot! Going in cold yet again.

iRacing doesn't make it easy to find the individual sessions for a series. You will need to join the league in order to view the sessions.
    select Leagues - > TrackHQ
select League Sessions (middle tab in center of screen)

    Calendar below:

2015-02-04 8:00 pm Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca
2015-02-11 8:00 pm Lime Rock Park
2015-02-18 8:00 pm Okayama International Circuit
2015-02-25 8:00 pm Auto Club Speedway
2015-03-04 8:00 pm Summit Point Raceway
    2015-03-11 8:00 pm Sonoma Raceway

Only four members right now so not much interest thus far so this series may fizzle as a result.

All join requests have been accepted. If you submit a request to join the league please pm me as iRacing doesn't let me know that there are pending requests.

    Reminder -

    Tonight - 2/4/15 8pm PST
Laguna Seca - Mazda MX5 Cup
    League - TrackHQ.com
    Password ironcanyon

MRLS will be very lonely with only four racers. Don't be shy. Since I am racing you won't be last.

Iron Canyon Motorsports is offering a 25.00 end of season tow fund (iRacing Gift Card) to each racer who finishes in the top 3 and completes at least 5 of the 6 events. That should help cover those tracks that are not included in the base iRacing package for some. Decals will be required but due to short notice this requirement is waived for the first event.

Please see the 'Season 1' thread for more info.

Err, can we give Andrew the win? I don't feel right taking it :/

Also, if anyone's interested, here are some highlights from a GT3 race I did last night. Perfect example of how much fun iRacing can be.

    ^We need to race GT3s!

For me, i'd be more inclined to participate if we do the tracks that I have upcoming in my racing season: IE: Sebring right now, Laguna Seca in mid-March, etc... If any of you follow the IMSA series it may be more engaging to have i-Races at tracks that you are going to watch on TV soon. The Bathurst 12HR is going on now and that would have been a fun track to do as well.

    Just a thought.

    Yes, yes we do.

Yeah, following the IMSA tracks sounds good

Don't worry about it. Connection issues are the iRacing equivalent of mechanical problems. Its all just good clean fun.

Certainly willing to add/change tracks if that is what everybody wants to do. I was trying to 'keep it on the reservation' so to speak by using tracks that are included in the base iRacing package. If everybody wants something different I've no problem changing the track selection. Please shout out if you would like some different tracks. Be forewarned that speaking out implies participation.

The current format is based around a six race/six week long season. This format makes it hard to match up with any real series. Jumping around to interesting tracks would be fun but that means everybody is going to be buying tracks all the time.

I am up for GT3's as well. That or the Star Mazda has been great since the last update.

^^The 2 best series on iRacing IMO. Both produce incredible racing. GT3's are a little bit more simple to set up, Star Mazda is maybe slightly more fun to drive.
