Default Miatas at Mazda Raceway Oct. 3 & 4

Looks like I missted the boat for Miatas at MRLS this year, as it's completely sold out! Anyone got a extra spot they are willing to let go?

I've never been to Laguna Seca, and really want to take this opportunity to bring my Miata there.

Those events sell out in hours. I'm sure you can find a spot, but if you want to get all the emails on the event before it sells out, send an email to the organizer to get on the email list:

Also Miata.net has a thread in the Special Events section to try to get track spots. You can still attend even if you don't have a track spot, lots of Miata stuff to geek out on.

About a hundred people do the trackday portion of that event, yet a few thousand attend each year- there's tons more to do than just the HPDE. You could still get on-track as well; most of the vendors field multiple cars to give ride-alongs in all weekend long, so you could bring your helmet with you and probably experience laps in several well sorted Miatas over the course of the two days.

Who all is planning to race on Sun and how will your car be prepared? I'd like to race my SPM but I'm not sure there will be many similar cars.

We're not bringing any race cars. Instead we'll focus on giving rides and showing our project cars.

    Giving rides in:
Deviate- Orange 95R package with 240whp K20 race motor
Taxi- NA with race suspension and blueprinted NB2 engine
OGK- 370whp unlimited Time Attack build. This one not likely to be ready but we'll try

    Displaying:
Buttercup - NB2 BRG with production JR Rotrex kit
Mental - John Wing's 320whp Rotrex boosted street NA
    WWW.949RACING.COM
    SuperMiata

Aside from their cost I never understood why people race them.
But obviously I just dont get it. -fatbillybob

The Blackbird Fabworx crew had a fantastic weekend @ MRLS!

All weekend long we had people coming to our garage, asking about our products and services, seeing what we do and strapping in for fun rides in the 2 cars we had at the event.

There were too many highlights and great moments to recall in one post, but it was a pleasure to share the track and the paddock with our friends from 949 Racing, Goodwin Racing, Flyin' Miata, Jackson Racing, Trackspeed Engineering, Moss Motors, K-Miata and others, as well as many Track HQers
It made me very proud to see how far we have come since first attending the event as a smaller vendor while this year anywhere I turned my head in the paddock there were cars sporting our products including many of our fellow vendor cars in the garages.
And speaking of which, the ones that received much appreciated praise all weekend were our 2 new models of roll bars for the 2016 Miata, the ND GT3 seen on the Orange 949 car and the ND RZ shown on the GWR car -

We also had many of the participants taking advantage of the free try offer of our Lexan spoilers, most of which ended up purchasing them on the spot, couple of them even ended up being installed in the paddock by the buyers and were already used at the event

    What a great weekend!

Omg. That orange ND is SEX. The orange roll bar compliments it perfectly. That is 949's custom orange on the car and bar, right?

You misunderstand. My questions was not if it's the 949 car. My question is if the paint is custom. I'm not familiar with all the possible colors the ND can be purchased in. Either way, that Orange is *****in.

The roll bar was powder coated to match with the color sample Emilio gave us, the car is wrapped.

Perhaps OGK should be OKG - "O.K., God!"

    Oh. I see

If it were me, it would be duct tape orange.
I will paint all my future race cars to match duct tape. Easy and fast repair

    We switched things around!
Erik's car would give me a tow down the straight and I could tow him in corners

I couldn't pick a favorite. The Exocet was the fastest, with 1500 lbs propelled by 200 hp, but I've learned that faster doesn't necessarily mean funner, they were all really fun. I was impressed with Moti's car, the well known white, windshieldless car with all the aero. He say's it's 100 hp, but it accelerated pretty hard, and was passing a lot of cars.
The "accelerated pretty hard" part is killing me!
There was a part that a fellow THQer (Joe, are you here?) was trying to give me a point by out of T5 with his stockish (?) NA and that required a l-o-n-g lift just to make it happen..
Pretty sure that every Corvette driver on THQ would've pulled over and waiting for a tow truck to come and get them if they were in my car at that point
