Default You know you're a track junkie when...

You find speedstack tearoffs in your messenger bag back pocket at work.

I use them for endurance karting. Not sure how they got in my work bag though.

One year I flew from the Phoenix SCCA race to our office in Toronto. Found a balaclava in my laptop bag. Turned out to be useful since the temps in Toronto that week were like... 1.

When the hardware store employee trying to help you find some random piece of material or equipment you've vaguely described asks you what you'll be using it for and you hesitate to answer because you know that the honest answer about the DIY homebrew racecar part you're planning to re-purpose it for will only confuse them and complicate the search.

... when you planned to take your M3 but it has problems (as usual) and you start prepping your newly bought S2000 until 5AM and have your friend drive your car to Buttonwillow so you can still make it to the track.
