Default WTB C5 black drivers seat

Anyone in So Cal have a really nice black C5 (non Z06) drivers seat that they are using as a paperweight?

I drove my wife's car today (first time in a long time) and the seat integrity is totally gone.

Could have it rebuilt, just looking for path of least resistance

What is your budget for a seat that is basically new?

I have two seats pulled out of my 1998 coupe and they are in very good shape. If interested I can get pictures later.

note most of the C5 seats has 3 things broken:

    1. the black plastic bushing, see image. seat rock back and forth.
    2. the metal piece, see image below. seat wont go up or down, at least on 1 side.
    3. seat bottom cushion gets destroyed by the spring on the bottom.

labor is an hour or 2. but it takes a few tries to get it right. when you put them back, they always bind.....

The most important thing to me is that the replacement seat is a plug and play. It's in a 2002 rag top and has "memory" Are they all the same?

Pictures, price and location would be great. PM is best to steve at hamannco dot com. Thanks god Oli and SDSUsnowboards. Wish you were at SDSU. I live 15 min away

The padding has failed on my wife's and you are sitting on a rail. The upholstery is fine, but it is totally uncomfortable.

reason for feeling sitting on rail is bottom cushion got cut up by the steel wire spring under the cushion. fix it by place a piece of vinyl between them.

to remove seat is x4 15mm nuts and unclip 1 electrical connector.

You should probably buy the seat from SDSU as he is willing to sell only one. I should probably sell mine as a pair as they have some tan accent that you probably won't like. Other than that they are in really good shape.

I need to check what controls they have as I only sat in them once briefly and then they came right out for the Spec Corvette build.

I asked my wife if she weighed over 200 lbs. Hopefully my eye will open up enough by this weekend to race LOL

SDSU, can you send me pic, price and location?

I do not have any reference to compare these seats to. I looked through the service records that came with the car, and it appears the driver's seat was reupholstered with perforated black leather in 2012, or about 15,000 miles ago. That explains the new-car leather smell. However, notice where the two halves of the seat meet on the side. I don't know if it's GM engineering or shoddy work merging the two covers. You tell me. The leather isn't normally wrinkly in the back. It's that way because I did the "side bolster mod" that William mentioned, which is reversible in a few minutes. I'm in San Diego every few weeks to visit family, so you can see these seats for yourself next week, if you are interested.

Pretty sure that's a seat cover. A little too baggy for me. Thanks for the pics though. Will see what it will cost to get new foam put in mine.

No problem. I wasn't feeling very good about getting rid of the stock seats after all. Don't forget that Oli has seats.
