Default Will an engine from an automatic miata easily be swapped into a 5spd car

    Hey all,

I've got a 97 miata 5 spd that the engine recently quit.
I've found a guy with a low mileage engine that he'll sell me for a good price.
One catch, the engine is in an automatic car.
Id like to know if it will be a straight forward swap and if anyone here knows what will be required or has done anything like this before.

1.8L should be fine. Just swap the rear stuff over to the clutch and flywheel setup.

You might end up with a performance boost in doing the swap.

Auto Miatas have a different tune, lower compression and less power.
