My only plan is to get out on track.

    Anything else is secondary.

The car is caged and in theory only requires a little bit of work to be driving again. I bought a welder and will start practicing soon, so I should be able to finish what needs to be finished. The fun part's going to be developing the minor aero package.

and I'm tired of being at the track like this:

If all things work out, I'll be playing with SoCal and AZ regions in TT2.

Kam, have you spoken to Hoover at Turbohoses up here in Livermore? If not you should, they are an expert in those Nobles and race them up here.

    I have... few things:
$2,000 - Cost for TH to remap the ecu.
$15,000 - Cost TH charged an AZ Noble owner to install a clutch (parts: $1500), short shifter upgrade (parts: $1200), and a handful of minor reliability improvements... and it took them a YEAR to do it. There's a current build thread of another Noble they have that is getting a handful of stuff, again... 1.5yrs into that build.
$1,500 - Cost for an improved shift fork in the gearbox... they modify your shift fork.

While I do realize I own an exceptionally rare car, the components that make up this rare car are pretty common... The drivetrain is all Ford and nothing is overly complex or intricate.
I'm all for supporting a shop that is one of like three supporting the brand, but I can do all of the same work for third of the cost and take an 8th of the time to do it.

Plus, I don't think TH does Honda swaps and I can imagine it costing me $25K or more for them to do it, while I can do most of the work and just pay for the parts (which I'm in it for at around $12k).

This is not to say TH doesn't do great work (they do) or they aren't good people (they are)... I'm a DIYer and enjoy getting my hands dirty.

Apply for SCCA license and setup the Civic for STL, run majors to qual for mid-ohio. Might mix in some NASA WERC races to gain enduro experience. Run unlimted FWD at GTA Super Lap battle at the end of the year again but with a more competitive setup.

If the engine is to be installed longitudinally or run more than a few hundred RPM past OEM rev limit. research oiling issue in high RPM K series. If they have an achilles heel, it's oiling at high revs or when turned sideways.
Heads flow like a unicorns ass though, rainbows and magical horsepower shoot out. We're building an 8800rpm K20A2 with vTec still enabled. Custom vacuum pump oiling systems and Accusump.

Aside from their cost I never understood why people race them.
But obviously I just dont get it. -fatbillybob

Already done... you K-swapped Miata guys get the joys of having to figure out how to keep oil near the pump. The F22C seems like the better powerplant for the Miata... although the cost associated =X

The Noble has the "OEM" drivetrain mounted laterally. So I'm basically taking the drivetrain from the front of a TSX...and moving it backwards making it mid-engine without rotating it.
The trick I'm going to have to deal with is, how to keep the gearbox from grenading itself all the time, since I'll be boosting it and trying to achieve 500whp/400tq (stock Ford V6 TT made 435whp/400tq). If it keeps failing, quaife sequential...
