Default What is this disguised new car?

Sorry for the poor quality photographs, and I didn't get any that show the whole car; it was very dark and I was driving in heavy traffic. I was driving down Hawthorne Blvd. in Torrance, CA. I see this big, nicely styled, expensive looking sports coupe that is obviously disguised with that paint scheme. It has Michigan plates, which might be a clue. At first I thought maybe a BMW or Porsche, but the Michigan plates say "American Car." What do you think?

    ^^ impressive eye

Farmington Hills, MI is an automotive hub in the USA. Michigan may have better manufacture plate process but it's probably more likely that the office taking care of the registration happens to be located there along with many other automotive suppliers.
I drive an Indiana manufacture plate vehicle around California because my company has it's US headquarters there. The car has never even been to Indiana.

The rear end fixtures and the door handle levers sure seem the same.

. . . or something. He really nailed it.

And the car really does look good. It could unsettle a few orthodontists and steal more than a few 2016 "991.2" Porsche sales.

The front side air scoops are also tellingly covered up in the right place by my last pic.

The fastback version of the AMG GT is so much better looking than the coupe.

Let's leave any drama at the door?

That being said... welcome back Richard.
Were you able to get your S2K out on the track as you planned to?

If I'm feeling good, I will be at the Open Track Racing event at Big Willow on Wed. Nov. 19. If I feel like $h!t, I won't go. If it's raining, I won't go. Damn I wish I got my 17-year-old son to install the track wheels/tires on the car last weekend when he stayed with me. Now I have to break my achin' back to do it myself. It's hell getting old, although it beats the alternative. Moverover: "Age and treachery will always overcome youth and skill."
