Oh and the second simulator finally came home along with our super slick custom transportation cases. Bright orange so the teamsters can find them easier after the tradeshows. Well, that and a $20 spot.

Which reminds me, if there are any OC locals that want to help me assemble and test the two machines this weekend, you'll get some free seat time.

We're shipping back out again for CES (Intel booth Centerpiece!) Tuesday so we need to give the machines a once over and test some new hardware beforehand. Call the shop (my signature).

Various family members braving the cold and rain to help me put my car back together in time to do Laguna today.

I seriously have no idea if I got anything. I was too busy with the car all day Christmas and I haven't looked under the tree or in the stocking yet.

Default new member to the family

Santa brought my Z car a new cousin. A 1974 Datsun 710 (beautifully ugly) formerly in the Bondurant stable. These were pre-production cars given to Bondurant and mine is serial number 000026.

Planning on running it in original Bondurant livery. Check out the picture they sent me from about 1975.

    Default 710

Z's and 510's are for sure Datsuns best designs IMHO. I couldn't resist the story behind this car however.

Picture of it's current condition below.

You are way to modest Tom. You are one of the best men I know.

You are the kind of guy for whom it is very hard to find a worthy gift. For those of you who don't know, on my first day meeting Tom he went way out of his way to help me when I was in a bind at Cal Speedway and even put up some of his own credit to help me out. The best part is that the D.A. did not even press charges against me. I don't know what would have happened if Tom was not there to help me out.

There is good reason for that...you have ridden with me, remember?

For folks who REALLY think it's the car, not Oli's serious skills, a ride with me will remedy that gross misconception...quickly.

I don't believe in accepting gifts from dear friends who have been there for me throughout the years.
And please, Oli, for the love of Santa, don't give them any more details about the DA...I could never show my virtual face here again.

Not so much Santa, but the cold weather in PA brought me a flooded engine when we tried to go home last Friday, followed by a 50-mile tow to the dealer and a garage full of smoke:

    Happy New Year to everyone!

    Hey Nils -

Got the final issue of SCC. You get good mention as winning Street Class at super lap battle finals Buttonwillow 13-CW last Nov.

March '09 -- final issue of SCC. Got it a couple of days ago in the mail Most of the issue is about the Super Lap battle and some of the cars in it.
