    Default Usgp

Got back late last night from USGP in Austin. We went the opening year in 2012, and the facilities are much improved. No 60 minute waits for food etc. Food prices were at least double of what they were before however. $8 for a snow-cone?

The biggest disappointment once again is the pathetic sound of the cars. To be able to sit 100 feet from a GP race track and not need ear plugs just sucks.

    Bring back the V-10's!

so we went to monza last year and spa this year - that said, the sound last year was almost inaudible. this year it was much improved. they're not anywhere near the beautiful sounds of the 80s, but they aren't THAT bad IMO. the gp2 cars do sound better with their v8s though haha.

as for staying for the USGP, how is transport out to the track from downtown austin? easy? or did you stay out near the track? it doesn't appear too far...~20mins? how was the traffic near the track? i'm looking at doing USGP next year for my bachelor party

We paid $15 pp to ride a shuttle that picked us up 10 miles away from COTA.

The drop off point was a brisk 15 minute walk to the front gate, but leaving the event was no problem at all. We walked right on to a shuttle even though we stayed for the awards ceremony.

We rented a car and parked on site the first year we went, and it was a nightmare getting out.

We went with general admission this time. This works out fine if you go early.

If I was buying seats again I would sit at the top of T-1 or the end of the back straightaway,
