Used Honda Civic race cars for $20,000 each? A bit pricey.

More like a bargain priced semi rig and they throw in the Honda's for free. $80k for the rig is a good price. If I had that dough, I'd buy the lot, sell off the cars for maybe $8k a piece, the mini van for maybe $4k and end up with the semi and trailer for what $44K? That's a freakin steal. More truck than I need now but I do dream about a rig like that
    someday.

Aside from their cost I never understood why people race them.

the good: pricing is not bad. like Emilio said.
the bad: you take it to SCCA / NASA to race. They tell you no go, because no cage.
so you take it to SV, Xtreme Speed or Speedtrial. they tell you no go, because 4 points seat belt.
so you take it to Carmax. they don't want it, because of roll bar, harness and blue seats.

I guess I read the on-line add too fast. I saw the pic of the trailer but didn't know it was included in the price.

Maybe we could put together a partnership of trackHQers to buy the lot.

Good points. But changing 4 cars to 6-point harnesses would cost a total of about $1200 plus a modest amount of installation labor. Cages is another matter. The cars can't (and shouldn't) be raced like that.

I wonder where Don Swanson ran his race school. No local track would allow W2W racing in cars like that, would they?

After looking into it further, the value isn't quite as high as I thought.

The cars are not really prepped for anything and they're nearly 20 years old. Two piece Chinese faux "Tuner" seats mounted on OEM rails, hand held fire extinguisher, bolt in 4pt roll bar. It would be easier and cost less to return them to stock than to turn them into race cars. Value is more like $3-4k each.

Going rate for the Volvo WIA64TTES tractor is $9-17k
Trailer around $40k used. Probably $80k to build new but there are plenty of used race trailers for $80K that are far nicer than this one.

    Minivan still 3-4k.

I put the value at just under the current minimum bid on ebay. I'd offer $40K for the lot.
