Default Track day trip to England ?

Japan look to be more difficult than I thought.

England seem to be much easier...........even more so than the Ring.

flight is easy, there are tons of direct flights to London from LAX.

We also speak the same language. English seem to hate Americans less than other parts of Europe

    http://www.trackdays.co.uk/calendar/...gland,&prices=
that's a lot of track days available in England. it doesn't seem difficult to find a 4 day week.

This would be an awesome sample trip: (checked: $1,200 for flights for date below)

    8/19, Bedford
8/20, Donington Park, National circuit. evening only
    8/21, Rockingham
    8/22, drink in pub.....
    8/23, Donington Park, GP circuit
    8/24, Silverstone
    8/25, Brands Hatch

    Silverstone dates are here:
    Car Track Days | Silverstone

    geography
Large UK Circuit Map for all Track Day Venues

GT6: got to install the stick on left..........

    note 1 pound = $1.50 US dollar

    as for cars:
949racing has a UK distributor that has couple of track Miata.......Emilio ?

Looks like a fun trip. Being from the little kingdom I have been to all those tracks merely a spectator including British GP in 1971( victor - Jackie Stewart) and 1973 ( victor Peter Revson who I am sure all know as he was American and also victor of Indy in 1971).
Not to put a damper on the idea but I would be a little concerned that you could have a full schedule of rainy track track days, so take that into account when you hand over your hard earned dosh ($)!
Many people not used to driving seated on the right hand side of the car end up trying to shift gear using their door handle, although this habit tends to diminish after a few laps!
    Don't forget your Umbrella !
Bedford run corp or group track days where you turn up, start in an m3 onto Ariel Atom, then jaguar Palmer, then Formula 3000.

Emilio is quite right to be concerned regarding the "British culinary delights". I did contemplate sharing this concern in my post but I avoided making
disparaging remarks regarding the British diet as indeed big strides have been made in the last 20 years. However Gordan Ramsey still has
a lot of work todo but unfortunately not enough time before William's trip. Therefore "WTF is that" may well be expleted on a nightly basis by William as his sits down to his soggy 'Steak and kidney Pie', and other culinary horrors. But do not worry, just wash down with warm beer. After 10 pints you acquire the taste and forget the food!

Seriously if I was considering a European Track day vacation I would look at Northern Spain, one because of the tracks: 'Circuito de Catalunya', 'Circuit de Navarra and 'Motorland Aragon' and secondly, the food ! Little known, but the food in Northern Spain is perhaps some of the best in the world.

If Emilio accompanies William, sure to get some red carpet treatment in Spain with such an Historic surname !

btw. Brands Hatch is an old F1 track, last time was in 1986. now in Silverstone.

Donington Park hosted F1 in 1993. Senna won that race.

Interesting set of recent travel threads. Is this the beginning of "949TTS" (949 Trackday Travel Service).

Why not a 3-4 track tour of the Southeast? Cheaper travel, better food, better tracks? VIR, RA, Barber, then ? (Roebling, Daytona, etc.) Just sayin'...

Funny! I'm leaving soon for that loop of SCCA majors races that takes me through April then to the NE maybe and ending back at Daytona in October. Barber is not on my schedule unfortunately.

You should include British F1 tracks in your list Snetterton and Oulton Park are classics.

    Picture this:

VIR Grand Course, southern hospitality, because New South, journey to Charlotte, visit the NASCAR museum, I might be able to get you into one of the pro teams shops in nearby Mooresville, enjoy the EXCELLENT restaurants. Drive south, maybe visit the BMW or Michelin sites, see the Giant Peach. Hit Road Atlanta, go to Midtown, hit the Varsity. If I'm there, you can crash at my place. Maaaybe taste AMP. Head about 2 hours west, sample Barber. Head maybe 2 hours east and sample Roebling. From there, easy south drive down the 75 or 95 to FL for Daytona or Sebring. Is Stuntman free? Daytona, Sebring, Moroso? Caribbean weather; soooo nice! Carolina BBQ, Low country seafood, excellent breweries. See Tom, me, what else do you need?

    Force,

Have you shot skeet or clays at VIR? PM me tips on where to stay for R Atl. and if there is food near there that is a must try. I'm big on bar-be-que but if some place is famous for something I want to try it.

I'd love to get out to the south... that trip would actually be a lot of fun. But then, I fully admit to being a Bill Elliot fan.

Let me do some fact checking to get my info correct. I will also alert Pyro Monkey to this, as he and his family have a pretty deep knowledge of VIR, FAR more than I have.

You have to keep two things in mind around VIR, BBQ is 'usually' Carolina-based. This means whole-pig, slow roasted, pulled or chopped, the sauces are normally vinegar-based (on the side so you can add the amount you want). It's realllly good, but the sauces are love it or hate it. I love it, personally, it's tart, spicy, not sugary-spicy tomato sauces like Texas. Also, RA is pretty far from ATL, about an hour. ATL traffic is VERY similar to LA traffic, but a LOT more aggressive. Some places I know of to eat around RA are seasonal, so I am messaging a friend of mine who literally grew up their as a kid through the 80s (he has some awesome and risque stories about Dorsey Schroeder that are HILARIOUS!). Just want to make sure my info is good.!
    Yer pal,
