i have heard that this car will have a lower CG than even the cayman. which I thought had the lowest CG of any major production car to date. That doesn't mean it sill be a 100% winner, but I think indicates the right thoughts were put into it...

The Cayman was their benchmark, the same as Porsche was for the NSX. I'm not saying it will be the next NSX, but I'd love if it was a big suprise

^^^ Wasn't Honda going after Ferrari with the NSX?

From Wikipedia: "The original performance target for the NS-X was the Ferrari 328, which was revised to the 348 as the design neared completion. Honda intended the NS-X to meet or exceed the performance of the Ferrari, while offering targeted reliability and a lower price point. For this reason, the 2.0L V6 of the HP-X was abandoned and replaced with a more powerful 3.0L VTEC V6 engine."

In terms of designing coupe to have less chassis flex than a 10+ year old convertible, yes I do. I'm not saying it will be a better overall design but I'm happy someone is building a relatively cheap, light RWD coupe. Honda isnt.

Well, comparing a convertible to a coupe is a different issue.

I'm happy any car company is building anything performance oriented with a gasoline engine and rwd. Whether it will be any good we will have to see. So far, Scions are crap.
