A 240hp Atlantic would probably run a 1:25 or so... It's allll about cornering speed.

not 100%. if that same 240hp Atlantic weighs 2,500LB (I don't know how much that Cusco car weighs, but it does have full carbon body). it will probably do 1:40.

I say it is the JDM wing

actually I am more impressed with the GM fwd Cobalt. that car has less power, yet did a 1:50.

don't think so. almost every race/track sanction (not including drag racing) ban NOS.

Tarzan controlled that beast very well (from in car video), line was good too.

Am I the only one who's just not impressed with Tarzan?

He's pretty annoying. He also gets to drive some of the most well prepped machinery, so it's hard to tell how much is car vs driver...he's no Richard_EVO that's for sure

    Hey, I resemble that remark!

Here's a pic from the day I shared a garage at Cal Speedway with my buddy Tarzana and his Skyline GT-R at the first Redline Time Attack a few years ago (my white Evo VIII RS behind Skyline). He was pretty fast that day and won the event by about 3 seconds over Kent Jordan and the Muellerized Evo.

I heard they almost blew the intake manifold off!

But seriously, and maybe it's just my n00bishness coming through, I wasn't as impressed from the apex of Riverside pretty much to Sunset. No doubt it's a fast car though.

Redline allowed the Cobalt to run NOS. They then banned NOS and the Cobalt never ran again.

The Cobalt was 400hp (with NOS) and weighed 2300lbs.

    The lap time was impressive.

Just looking at his line and throttle/brake inputs in the video, I see time on the table

Sure theres time on the table, especially at the sweeper. FYI he is not one of the best drivers in Japan and never known to be either. Maybe thats the reason he appears more often in US Time Attack than Japan Time Attack hence he made his way up here pretty successfully. As the old saying goes racing is all about being at the right place at the right time knowing the right guys.

In conclusion, that CAR is fast.

Dang, that's too bad. I'd love to play with some N2O. Fast V8 -> Happy Louie and REALLY fast V8!

Yeah I really noticed it in the sweeper and the kink after riverside. Who knows, maybe they didn't put up video of his best lap.

Im not a fan of critiquing drivers based on 1 lap. I can think over very few "best" laps I have posted on the web. but the thing that stuck out to me was throttle modulation in the sweeper and other spots. I wonder if there was something that required the car be driven on/off throttle instead of modulating it more smoothly...

Tarzan is always on and off the throttle its extremely annoying watching his videos... fast in some sections and puzzling in others.
