And why do we still call them Time Attack when the 1 or 2 lap format was abandoned long ago? It's Time Trialing. Guess that doesn't fit in with the whole DJ's, baggy pants, wallet chains and half naked models atmosphere.

Awh man! If this means you want your dash back, you ain't gettin' it!

We should start a roadster series. Miata, S2000, mr2 spyder, or any other girly convertible that wants to run. Power to weight ratio base + points for mods. Race cars welcome.

Are domestics allowed? Haven't ever seen anything in print saying they aren't, but also can't recall ever seen any at RLTA, GTA, SLB, etc.

I think Emilio in the C6 would cause quite an upset.. Casting my vote to see it happen.

I won't point out that one time with the Corvette Challenge...

^^Several years ago Charles drove Oli's Vette with a big wing on it in RTA. IIRC, he took 1st in RWD Modified.

Williams Idea. I prepped and setup the car. Charles came within .5s of my time on his first lap. Didn't go faster after that though. Dirt on the track or maybe alignment knocked out. He used a lot of kerb.
Yeah, I think I'll do me some Time Attacking Racing in the Z06 next year.

I thought that this - and a wedding planners class - were only being considered for Miata guys.

I was looking at Stephanie Cemo's race vette the other day and now that I think about it, she has a full (enough) dash in there. Can't remember if there was a glove box but that really shouldn't be that hard.. I don't see how the corvette guys (and girls) haven't crashed the time attack party yet.

edit: actually now that I realllly think about it, I saw Stephanie's name somewhere in the results for a recent time attack... but IDK if she was driving the race car or the 'street" vette.

Corvettes have shown up (and won). They just (almost) always end up in the Unlimited class because they show up on Hoosiers, not because of other rules.

I know one person building one that should be very fast for Modified class. And they could certainly be dominant in Street class if someone was willing to do 285 square RS3.

First thing about racing is knowing how work around the rules.

It requires a "facsimile" of a dash. So a custom fabricated dash for limited class is allowed.

If you have safety equipment that does not allow the factory parts to be refitted it is ok. Safety > everything else. I.e. cage is in the way not allowing the glove box to be installed

    Super Lap Battle.

GTA has now taken over the SLB event which is every November, they run the GTA rule set now all engines are allowed.

The bigger picture (of course) is that wherever there are rules, you need to build to the rules if you want to win.
