Who ended up going with Emilio? Does he have a crew? 1 man show would definitely be FML.

Tom Probert drove the rig and will crew. Sprint races are pretty simple to prep for. Nothing at all like enduros where you need a platoon.

Aside from their cost I never understood why people race them.

The braking zone for T4 is downhill. Pressure them to brake deep and they might go flying into China Beach. And i just noticed your race is the very last one. Well, if you have any challenges youll at least have all day Sat to prep for Sun. Hopefully you come back with 2 National Championships and 2 track records. No pressure.

Figure out where that asphalt sealant is. It plays hell with your car in the turns, corner entry and corner exit in places. You can't figure it out when the track is wet. Find them while the track is dry and mark them on a track map. It will make a difference if you are racing in the rain.

Yup. Part of learning any track in the wet. Mid Ohio in particular known for having a wacky rain line. I'll walk it tomorrow am.

Default Qualifying for first heat race 1

    The format is thus:

Thursday qualify and do a 20 minute "qualifying" heat race 1
Friday do it again n heat race 2
Points awarded for combined finishing positions to determine Sundays Championship grid spots

My P2 qualifying lap for heat race 1. A few tenths behind a guy in a very dialed RSX on pole.

Damn! I guess that isnt so bad. Cheaper than tracking a car. LOL!

So do they have all the tracks around the world pretty much?
I just called them. They have another simcalled R Factor which has Big Willow. No Buttonwillow though. Considering Ive only been on Big Willow once in over a year, I think this will be good to practice on for round 6 coming up.

i believe a simulator would be good for a track that is totally unfamiliar but nothing beats the real thing

Default NASA nationals heat race #1

Watch the yellow Mustang come from behind me at the start, pass me and the pole sitter with all four wheels in the grass, then hit the pole sitter as he tries to squeeze onto the track. The Mustang then parked in front of us for the entire race. The Mustang qualified almost 2 seconds behind me

Emilio, did they give you guys an option on how you guys want to grid? When i was at Nationals, both years theyd ask the group if we wanted to grid based on lap times (which means we would be mixed with different classes), or by our class.

Regarding the Mustang, i think youll have a much better chance in the Championship race because its longer. His weight should be his disadvantage in the longer main race. And if the incidents are minimal i think youll have no problem getting around him then.

Might I recommend a nasty block on the start? You get one with nasa. Block him in the grass.

Is it acceptable per the NASA rules to overtake off the track? That seemed like a ridiculous and dangerous maneuver.
