Default SuperMiata / SuperBBQ, 3/28/15, Chuckawalla, close racing, beer, BBQ, bike race

my race, Saturday's first short spring race. fought it out with Sonny the whole race.

from Bill's view, 1st and 2nd short spring race of Saturday. first time on this track and 2nd time driving a Miata...no wonder he is a Vette national champion !!

    from Joe Xie's view.....

from Alan's view. this is Sunday 25 minutes race. Alan was the most improved driver.....spun out by T5 first lap, but caught the back end by end of the race.

Great weekend. Good eats. Hot as hades during the day but lovely for the BBQ. No hangover Sunday morning. Car didn't break. Good close racing. Yah, great weekend.

    oh. racing.

12 SuperMiata both days. Also ran with an Arizona race group of 13 cars. We had 2 starting waves

    Qualifying Saturday afternoon (108F !!!).
then 2 short sprint races (~13 minutes per race). 2nd race grid was reverse grid of 1st race result.

Sunday was a longer 25 minutes race. This 3rd race grid was reverse grid of 2nd race result.

    Emilio won all 3 races......sigh.........

BBQ looks great guys, sorry I missed it, and thanks for the invite. Had dinner that night at the steakhouse at Fantasy Springs Casino with my friend who drove a black C6 at the event on Sunday. Lots of boneless beef short ribs and bourbon. My friend's first time to Chuckwalla and he loved it.

    Well, that was fun.

Thanks to everyone for welcoming me to the group and for providing such tough competition. I've got a LOT of work to do.

Special thanks to Alex R. for keeping my weekend alive after I shredded a brake line during morning sessions on Saturday. Alex didn't hesitate to dive under my car and install new lines (provided by Emilio, thanks!). Without their help my weekend would've been over before the races even began.

Watching everyone's videos, I have a long checklist of things to improve upon when we return to CVR in November.

@Alan hoping you can post video of Sat race #2 and "The Fantom Punt" that sent me off in T12. You can just barely see it in Andrew's first video above ... see his rear-view at about 17:30.

Hoping for SMMR ... likely coming to Sonoma and Streets in July, too.

    Sat morning:

All I have to say about the bike race is whoever was on the mountain bike has all the win.

Awesome to see those grids keep growing. Hope it continues to gain momentum, maybe I'll make it out there one of these days.
