Default Spoon NSX-R GT vs. FXMD FX750 NSX

GT Channel finally posted the video of the Spoon NSX-R GT vs. the FXMD (previously Factor-X) FX750 Unlimited Time Attack NSX.

Streets of Willow clockwise with the additional (old track) hairpin turn 3-4 (the new 'blowpass' is a simple 90* right-hand corner while the old track was more of a hairpin with a left hand corner leading into the 'esses' before the 'bowl'). Depending on the car/conditions/track, the old track is said to be 1-2 seconds slower than the newer 'blowpass' configuration that most clubs run.

Spoon NSX-R GT: 1:25.902 - Tyler McQuarrie

Mine's R35 GTR: 1:25.113 - Daijiro Yoshihara
http://videos.streetfire.net/video/M...-GT_188190.htm
FXMD FX750 NSX: 1:23.X - Billy Johnson (Lap not listed in the videos)

We did the 1:23 despite having significant problems engaging 3rd gear, brake bias being off, down on power (to break in the motor), and the terrible US-spec gear stack and final drive). This was filmed late last year where the car was still far from being sorted.

Part 2: (More talking, more on-track, Billy in-car)

Wow...the FXMD FX750 NSX took out the Spoon NSX-R GT...that's pretty fricken awesome. I'm sure all the JDM fanboys will get their panties in a bunch when they learn about this.

I'm a Spoon Whore, but I'm not surprised the FXMD FX750 NSX is faster than the Spoon NSX-R GT. The FXMD FX750 NSX's engine is built right?

Is there actually anyone in the world who thinks the Japanese are any good at making shocks? Surely even the Japanese know they suck.

Billy, what kind of tires was the FXMD running?

Looks like the Spoon NSX and the Mine GTR are running Street Tires.

NSX type R GT is still a production car, limited production only 5 in the world, kinda like AMG upgrade for Mercedes Benz.

Default Bah

With no blow pass running the old longer track the M-Workz 350Z ran a 1:22.8 on used BFG tires. With C91's, easy 1:18.X with any cockpit spacer......

Previous TrackHQ discussion regarding this:

Mine's R35 GTR VS Spoon NSX-R GT
Tires: Yokohama A048 MH
Front - 265/35-18
Rear - 315/35-18
550whp

Both the Spoon and Mines cars are street cars, more similarly to our silver "Seamless" FX500 silver NSX which has a full interior, carpet, sound system (with amp and subwoofer -which Spoon/Mines dosn't have), etc... I'm pretty confindent our FX500 wouldn't have an issue with beating the two JDM tuners, especially with its 500whp.

The Unlimited FX750 is more of a racecar like the M-WorkZ 350Z. Both of those cars with C91/Yokohama Slick comparable tires, should be 1:18 or less at SOW. The FX750 had significant gearbox issues and other issues that hampered its performance that weekend.

I don't know....

Picking up four seconds on an 80 second track with just tires, even good ones, is expecting a lot I think. I would think three at most and that is still a darn good time.
