Default Speed Channel is gone . . .

You guys may already know this, but Fox killed off the Speed Channel. On my Verizon Fios TV channel lineup, it is replaced by Fox Sports 1.

Speed no longer carried F1, but it did have coverage of the Continental Tire Series road racing, and Australian V8 Super Cars series road racing, and occasionally DTM racing, among others. Does anyone know where we will find the road racing series that used to be covered by Speed?

You may want to check their line-up as they've discussed keeping some of the automotive programming in place. If anything, Fox Sports 1 is looking at being the "Blue collar" version of the NBC Sports Channel.

I just hope they don't get United Sports Car Racing.

It appears that they may cover the Continental Tire series, but DTM - my second favorite series to watch - may be history.

Watched a little of the Kansas Rolex race on Fox Sports 2 today, 618 on directv. How can that event be making any money? There were like 7 spectators.

Aside from their cost I never understood why people race them.

It wouldn't exist without TV. Most of their events are lacking spectators. I was surprised last year at how expensive a one day ticket was at MRLS then I saw how empty the stands were. Indy was empty too but they said Road America had good attendance.

Another cable channel program. No substitute for real coverage of good racing series, but something that could be mildly amusing from time to time.

Thanks. I tried it, but it appears Direct TV is no longer providing access to Speed2 - despite the Direct TV log-in button that still remains.

Direct TV customer support confirms this, and indicated that they no longer support Speed2 online access. Bummer . . .

DTM has a youtube channel with a pretty decent amount of content:

A quick note for those that have Verizon. If you had either the Rolex or Continental Series set to a series recording you need to go back in and set it up. Even though Fox Sports 1 replaced Speed the series manager doesn't recognize it and won't record. It looks like Rolex series is televised normally, but the Continental races have been bumped to the middle of the night unless you watch them in non-HD on Fox Sports 2... didn't even know there was a Fox Sport 2. I have scoured their site, but I can find nothing on the V8 Super Car series. Only the V8 UTE's are on the Speed2 site.

Fuel is what is now FS2.

There have definitely been guide data issues in this transition, although we (DISH) handled them fairly well.

So what would be the best way to watch the F1 race at Spa this weekend? I don't have the NBC Sports Network channel that I believe it will be shown on. Any high quality/HD streaming options available?

USCR contract is done. They're staying with Fox Sports.

It looks like their plan is to make Fox Sports 2 the non-mainstream sports channel. Remember ESPN2 in the 90's? I expect to see the races end up there.

Unfortunately, FUEL (now FS2) support by providers has been terrible. Hopefully more providers will now add FS2 and FS2 HD. Right now, I don't have FS2 HD and I can't go back to 480i racing coverage.
