I'd love to get some long term impressions regarding the car from you later. I was seriously considering one when the tax credit was still in effect last year.

    DSG or 6MT?

Awesome ride. If the Europeans and Japanese were allowed to bring more of their diesels here, no one would buy any more American cars. Especially SUVs and trucks. There's no reason an SUV or truck should not be diesel.

Nice car, did you buy it in Modesto? As you know the only thing I didn't like about my TDi jetta was the auto tranny. And the looks a little. I like the golf better. Enjoy your 50 mpg on the freeway

(-) that's what the Duramax 3500 is for. The Tahoe can't pull a 40' goose neck

Actually, the car was in So Cal, and the dealership was in Tucson, AZ lol. Modesto VW, like Elk Grove, Oakland, San Jose, and Stockton just wanted to dick around with me and sell me something they can mark up or have on lot...other words, not what I wanted. I spent 2 hours in Modesto VW one night making a deal on this exact car, to find out the next day they couldn't sell me the car (and my credit score was mysteriously 35 points lower). So I told them politely (well, maybe not ) to F-off. Called around to a ton of dealerships in AZ (supposedly the car was in AZ). Had 1 guy call me back 4 times after I repeatedly blew him off, until he finally said: "if you know what you want, and can't find a dealership to work with you, give me a chance and we can work out a deal". He found this car, emailed me the invoice/MSRP price on it and I told him what i already neg'd with the other dealer and he accepted. Done deal..then he through in free delivery from the so cal dealership to me I got the car for $25k, the so cal dealer had it listed for 29k
