    Default Sold my 510

I had a fun afternoon yesterday. I had my B Sedan 510 for sale on Bring A Trailer this week.
The reserve was set at $25,000, and I really didn't think it would make it. If it didn't hit the reserve, I was out $99. No big deal.In the final minutes 2 guys were fighting over the car and it sold for $31,000!
Super nice guy in NC (with an amazing car collection) bought it, to go Vintage racing with his brother.
    A great experience all around.

That is the nicest 510 I've ever seen, you and Duane did a great job putting it together.

A moment of silence, please. I saw it on BaT and drooled over it every day. Beautiful car with excellent workmanship.

    Thanks Steve35.

It's sort of perfect because as you know the car was originally built so Duane could race with his brother. Since that never materialized, having some other brothers enjoy it is only fitting. The guy lives on Lake Norman in NC LOL

You should be banned from TrackHQ for posting a link to a car that is that is that clean and with such a tasteful build.

Sad that you sold it, but glad its going to a good home. It was fun racing against the number 7 with VARA! Do you plan to put that money right back into the racing economy? Is there another race car in your future?

Building a new Z car project that I can keep street legal, so I can use it more. Can't wait to see how it feels to drive a Z car with 14" wide rear tires LOL Car should be out of paint in 2 weeks. I will post some pictures then.

I have to ask.... So was it a 2.0L or really a 2.2L? It was advertised as a "2.0L". BUT- There was alot of speculation since there was white out on the dyno sheet pictures and the Bore/stroke on one of the sheets equates to a 2.2L. Just curious.
    Thanks,

Crazy money but well with it. That is a very nice build! One of the cleanest 510s I've seen racing.
That's not a Typo, I just can't spell no so well.

No "speculation" necessary. The bore and stroke on the dyno sheet are correct, so yea, about 2.2 liters.

It is a "truck" motor however. Falls off after 6,000 rpm where Rebello motors are just getting warmed up LOL

Wow, those things have gone up in value. My first road car was a 510 (model name "1600" down here, they were all 4 doors), cost me $1000. And my first track car was also a 510, not too dis-similar in spec to this one, cost $3,000.

Looks like I should have kept both.

I have a thing for 510. My first caged track car was a 510 in the 80s. Raced around Riverside international raceway and was a big deal then to go sub 2 minute at WSIR (Now is BW13)

For those with a few minutes to spare - a professionally produced, 'back in the day' film of the epic, break-out championship:
