Default Skip Barber MX5 Western Series Race1/2

The races were fun as usual.

Saturday was extreme weather pouring rain. It started out with semi wet track, after 3 laps or so, it started raining hard, and by our 5th lap, it was like racing on ice. I made a small mistake and spun out at the corkscrew, had a 4 wheel off and took mandatory pit in penalty, after i came back out, I went all out trying to catch up to P1 who took my position while i was in the pit even I had to turn on full blast wiper and open my visor to avoid fogging. I was 4-5 secs quicker than P1 car each lap but still ran out of laps to catch up with him after the 20 secs I lost on pit penalty, I ended up with 2nd place. Anyhow, racing in the rain is FUN, now i know i can be 4-5 secs quicker than others in the rain with the same car and tires!

Sunday was great. I started out second and I passed P1 car on the outside(like I did in the last race in August) of T2 in lap 1, and then I took the lead till the end. I took 1st place on this one.

Here's a qualifying video on Sat, track was semi-wet, and I made a small mistake on T6. Luckily, still got pole
    Enjoy!

    Nice!!! Congrats on the win!

Great driving too, great car control. That was a solid lap. Yes, T6 was a small 'oops', but you were very smooth about correcting it and lost minimal time. Very nice.

    Congratulations Charles!

Wow, a spin-out on the corkscrew...that must have been fun...

So how many more MX-5 Challenge races until this season is over? You jumped in toward the tail end right? Will you be participating in all the race for the new season?

That is great news Charles. I have not had a chance to watch the video, but I will do so tonight.

You are doing so well. It is really impressive.

great job as usual Charles. Looks like equal machinery is not challenging enough for you. They have to add some ballast or restrict your intake for the next race weekend.

dude, it's our pleasure! With all the success you've been having in this series I'm sure you'll have no problem transitioning into a full time racing career eventually.

You're a drifter, that's considered cheating. Great job! Keep it up!

    Believe it or not.
Its one of my favorite rockstars Alex and Eddie Van Halen racing in the Formula Group! Eddie was a very nice guy and we talked.

He was telling the instructor in the pic "I cant drive 55!"

Hey that's awesome! I love to see celebs that like racing.

    Except Frankie Muniz.
