Default Skip Barber MX5 Challenge Mar 7/8, 2009 (Rd 7/8)

Time flies by and this was the second to last of my Skip Barber Mazdaspeed MX5 Challenge Champsionship weekend, it has been a great season so far(still being points leader), yes I have been through some bad weekends, but good ones would follow was what I told myself each time.

This weekend was Western and Southern Series combined races, which means the southern and western series drivers would race together at Laguna Seca Raceway but points are awarded only towards our own regional points standings.

The results are I took 2 Wins, and also set the track record 3 times.

In qualifying session, I did a 1:48.899, 0.7secs faster than previous track record(set in 2008). After then, in the beginning of my second race, I did a 1:48.769 on my outlap and it broke the record once again. On my second lap, I did a 1:48.419, which makes the current track record.

In both two races, I pulled a huge gap against my opponents, I won by 16secs in the first race and 23 seconds in the second race, and I was racing with some of the best Southern and Western series guys.

I was very satisfied with the results and could not complain at all. I'd like to thank you all for the support and some of you for asking me to continue the write up, big thanks to Clement, John, Jaku, William, Ed, Roy, Leo, Owen and the you know who you are for always encouraging me through my highs and lows. Thanks to instructor Conrad G. for inspiring me not to give up and to think positive.

Special Thanks to 949Racing-Emilio, REN Motorsports, and Trackhq-Manly for the help of my driving career.

I have gained more confidence from winning in dead equal machinery. Though the same double win, I am sure I have progressed a lot since my debut race, and thanks a lot to Skip Barber Racing.

Charles doesn't need to store them. He eats off of silver platters every night.
