Default Shock dyno service in so cal?

    Hey all,
I am looking for a shop near the LA area (SFV preferred) that can dyno some shocks for me.

Anybody have anyone they have used or can recommend?

    Thanks in advance
    -Ryan

Guy Ankeny in Simi Valley has a shock dyno and he is one of the most highly regarded shocks specialists.

If that works, e-mail me via TrackHQ and I will do the intro.

Guy is one of the best, or there is also Crag @ Proparts.com in SFV

I have used Naake in norcal
    WWW.949RACING.COM
    SuperMiata

Aside from their cost I never understood why people race them.

So just to close the loop on this, I took Oli's recommendation and went to Guy for help and over the last few months we re-valved the shocks and made some car setup changes and can say now that I have officially run the car at a track, and after working with Guy the results are nothing short of phenomenal.

Previously the valving in the shocks was set to kill, and he flipped the switch from kill to fast. Its supremely easy to drive and never feels out of sorts, and is a superb platform to continue developing as a driver in.

Now i just need to flip the driver switch to fast and I should have something here

The car is totally unflappable. Admittedly this is on the new pavement but its still not glassy smooth and they did a fantastic job of absorbing the imperfections and providing mountains of grip while doing it.

I went 2 sec faster than my previous best time there (which was set on stock suspension). I'm sure there is much more to be had, but now I'm not fighting the car, I instead need to learn to trust it more, that it will actually do what I want it to.

Very excited to get the car out to ACS and see how it handles using the curbing since the new pavement height at Buttonwillow muted the curbing a bit.

JJ also drove it a session. You might ask him for his feedback as well as an impartial driver, but it was pretty positive.

Guy Ankeny has been doing work for me, too.

He was a real life saver at Laguna Seca two weeks ago. He rebuilt two of my shocks that were blown out and improved the valving.

I was VERY impressed with Ryan's car. By far the most stable wingless s2k I've ever driven. I just got off the phone with Guy also to see if he could help a friend of mine out. Really cool to talk to and very straight forward.

Honestly the biggest piece was paying tein $TEXAS to re-valve them since they wont sell parts. Guys part of the project was relatively inexpensive, in mostly incremental labor for his dyno services and his consulting time.

    Teins re-valving + springs was about 1k.

I think he said Penske is about $100 per shock. That's what he knows best and finds easiest to work with. I was under the impression other stuff is about $200/ shock but it depends on the shock and what you need done.

Sorry for bumping the old thread, but can anyone PM me Guy's contact info?
His website seems to be down and I need some consultation from him over the phone...

    Thanks in advance!

Performance Shock at Sonoma is who I used recently. They are great and the service was extremely fast; not in SoCal obviously, but just a shipment away.
