If you are a spec miata driver and are in the first 50 to register you get a free set of Hoosiers! That makes the entry fee like 200 bucks! Awesome deal but hurry!

This is why SCCA racing is so *****in' (that is a 1970s term for greatness for you young ones).

350 wheel to wheel entries on the first day of registration!

Yep, should be a blast! It's going to be a huge event and I'm already getting nervous about making sure my car meets every little nitpicky scca rule. I'm trying to procure a plastic rain tray to go under the mandatory windshield wiper right now. Heaven forbid I get DQ'd because my rain tray is missing...

I bought one a couple of months ago from Superior Chevrolet in Kansas. It was only about $35-70.

    Closing in on 450 entries.

I wonder if we'll beat last year's 750? I'm thinking no, but there is still time.

I don't think there were 750 entries last year. Wasn't it more like 550-600?

    I guess you are right:

Runoffs Entry List Flirting with Record Entries

The 50th celebration of the crown jewel of amateur road racing currently has 717 drivers on the entry list to compete in 28 classes. The current record saw 709 cars take a green flag at the 2004 Runoffs, held at Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course.

I don't want to see 700+ cars at little laguna seca. That would be crowded. I wonder if this year is a low attendance year because of the venue change. Racers might take this opportunity to take a breather and watch how this event runs. I bet next year the attendance will be higher with this new format of moving the championship race to iconic tracks around the country as racers get the idea. People don't like change. I want to go to Watkins Glenn.

What a nightmare. 700 race cars at Laguna Seca in the same weekend. I have been to Sonoma when NASA basically had no limit on the number of race cars. The traffic was ridiculous. Oy vey . . .

It is an amazing week when 500 race cars and drivers show up for the penultimate in amateur racing. There are pros racing with the amateurs. There are amateurs that should be racing pro. And more often the amateurs are the ones winning the title. It is a spectacular week of amazing driving. Sharing the track with the other drivers is truly an honor.

The same -week-. It's a week long event (well 6 days this year). You get 1 session a day.

At the event last year they said 750 people. I'm sure there was some rounding.
