    Default S2000 baffled oil pan

Since I consider you guys to be the experts, please let me know what I need to do for a track car with an F22C motor in terms of a baffled oil pan/accusump set-up. I am dropping this motor and transmission in a Datsun 510 and want it to live a long time.

Thoughts from those with first hand experiance are appreciated. I have read 100's of "opinions" on the other forums.

That thing is gonna be a monster. I had a baffled oil pan in my C4 Corvette because I was advised I could have oiling problems on track. But I don't have one in my S2K and don't know anyone who does, so I can't advise you on that.

Please keep us posted on your build. Can't wait to see the F22C powered 510 at the track!

    A SR20DET would make it a beast.

I run a baffled oil pan. I believe a few others are as well, as we can get it done for VERY cheap locally.

As far as Accusump goes, there are a few cars on s2k that run one; the difficult part is finding a good spot to place it in a s2k. With your car, it should be a bit easier

Are you going to be running on tracks with long sustained levels of lateral G?

I'd recommend making a post in the Racing and Competition section of s2ki.

    Default 510

Not looking to build a "beast". Just a NA 2,000 lb car with 200 + reliable HP that can do back to back run groups on pump gas. Finally decided that was never going to happen with a Datsun L series motor. Since I have 3 other Datsun's with period correct motors, hopefully the Datsun purists will give me a mulligan on this swap

I attend events at all of the So Cal tracks to answer a question that was asked.

    Overplayed.

My uncle was one of the first to put a 13B Turbo Rotary in a 510 so IMO it's cool to be unique. I've always wanted to see an F2_ powered 510!

510 was my first race car !!! drove it on WSIR and Riverside Raceway.

I just vaguely remembered top speed of something like 95MPH. lap time around WSIR was almost 2 minutes.

Oops I lost sight that he want to track the car, I'll do a little more reading in the future.

If you decide to get a weld in type of oil baffle make sure the whole assembly is heat treated and annealed afterwards otherwise the welds may crack.

Rocked one of those on my eclipse it increased the G's to starvation by around 0.3G. I can recommend the guy who made it for me. I ended up needing to go for a dry sump as the G's kept increasing.

honestly, how effective is an baffled oil pan on F20/ F22 still requires more data!

some of the fastest s2k drivers I know are not running the baffled plate and we never got any problem with way over 100 track days combined, pulling over 1G in turns!!

I think a JDM baffled oil pan would be much better than ebay baffle plate, I saw the weld quality of the plate on my previous s2k and I did not want to put another one into my current s2k LOL

I have buffed oil pan on my car, haven't got chance to install oil pressure sensor for racepak logger, can't really give any data at this moment. But just keep in mind if you gonna do it or buy one, get a good one, cuz I'v seen bad buff(most time bad welding part) caused engine failure.

Do you have a build thread going anywhere? Super cool idea, I hope to see it in person at some point.
