Default Rumors of the RX-7 returning are not true

I just read a story in Automotive News, which quoted Mazda CEO Masamichi Kogai. I looked for it online, but it's not available, and even then it might not be available to viewers who don't have a subscription. Some quotes that tell the tale:

"It's difficult for us at present to further expand our lineup."

Despite being a signature car for Mazda, equipped with the brand's famed rotary engine, RX is dead for now, Kogai said.

"We don't have that kind of vehicle in our future product plan," he said. "If you increase the number of segments, then the resources we can allocate to each will decline and that will prevent us from developing truly good products."

Direct quotes from the CEO of Mazda. Everything else you see or read is bull****. Stick a fork in the RX's return. It's not happening.

It's good news if you're looking for a Miata coupe which I believe will happen a year or two after the ND launches.

This does make sense even if it's a bummer.

Mazda will never produce another rotary. No one will ever produce another rotary. Whether that is good or bad news is your call . . .

On the plus side, the value of every other RX on the planet just went up.

If the rx-7 was to look like any of those photos, then thank God.
