Default Ross Bentley Race Craft Webinar

I got a mass mailing from Ross Bentley the author of Speed Secrets for a webinar on "Race craft." His webinar last month on data acquisition was quite good.

I am throwing a small pizza/webinar viewing party at my office in Irvine near the John Wayne Airport. If you want to come by from 5:30 to 7:30 and participate please let me know. The address is:
    Alvaka Networks
    2 Executive Circle, Ste 210
    Irvine, CA 92606
Google Directions - You just need to enter your starting point - https://www.drivingdirectionsandmaps...rive#googlemap

Please let me know if you plan to attend so we can have food and drink for you.

Here is the invite I got from Ross.

    Hi Oli,

If you do any wheel-to-wheel racing at all (or plan to in the future), want to know how to manage traffic better at track day events, or just want to understand racing better, I'm putting on an Improve Your Racecraft webinar on Monday, February 26th.

The last webinar I did actually sold out (I have to limit registration to a number that I know I can handle questions from), and I had to turn a few people away. I hope that doesn't happen this time, but go ahead and register as soon as you can to make sure you get in.

    Who is this for?
    • Budget endurance racers (LeMons, Champcar, WRL, AER, Lucky Dog, etc.)
    • Club racers (you know who you are - but your secret is safe with me)
    • Kart racers (indoor league-type or full-on karters)
    • Sim racers (seriously competitive stuff!)
    • Vintage/historic racers (who might want to protect those expensive cars)
    • Track day drivers (who want to be better at managing traffic)
    • Pro racers (don't worry, I won't tell anyone)
    • Anyone who wants to know more about racing and racecraft (serious spectators & race fans)
    Topics covered?
    • How to set up a pass
    • When to pass, and when not to
    • How to be passed while losing as little ground as possible
    • Drafting
    • Making the most of race starts and re-starts
    • When and how to defend a pass
    • Racecraft etiquette
    • And more...
For more info and to sign up, go to https://speedsecrets.com/improve-racecraft/. Deadline for registration is February 24th (or as soon as it fills up...).

As always, if you register but can't be on the webinar live, you still get full access to a recording of it, along with any of the handout materials.

Oh, and please pass this along to anyone else who might be interested. Thanks!

    Keep learning and having fun!

    Ross

I didn't see "How to get the zipper down on your fire suit when it's caught in your chest hairs " as a listed subject. Wasn't this what you were most interested in?

    Enjoy

…For those of you coming to my office next Monday for the Race Craft Webinar.

    Subject: Racecraft webinar prep

This is a bit like sitting in pre-grid before heading out for a race... or maybe even in the paddock before that, preparing. In this case, preparing for the Improve Your Racecraft webinar this coming Monday.
One critical topic we'll spend some time on in the webinar is what goes on in the mind of a great racer - what the thought process and attitude is. So, I've created a 20-minute video that gives you a glimpse into what's going on inside the helmet during some race scenarios. Please take 20 minutes between now and the webinar on Monday to watch The Racer's Mindset (https://speedsecrets.wistia.com/medias/gfazqkru8a). I'm going to make the assumption that everyone on the webinar will have viewed it... It's all part of the preparation process.
Over the weekend I will be sending a couple of reminders (just in case), along with the webinar Log-in information.
    See you online on Monday.

The takeaway I had from the video is "look into installing a defroster kit on the front window."

By the way, the next webinar is on April 23rd and 24th (a 2-parter) and it’s all about tuning your car’s handling. I’m doing it together with Jeff Braun, one of the best race engineers in the world (who can also explain what he’s doing in easy-to-understand language). Fittingly, it’s called Tuning Your Car’s Handling. You can register for it right now by going to SpeedSecrets.com/Tune-Your-Handling. If it’s anything my last two webinars, it will sell out (I’ve had to turn some people away from both because I wanted enough time to interact with all of you).
