    I don't understand why they would do that. If they have the same chassis, it would make sense to still offer two cars based on the same platform. I think the buyers for each car are completely different people.

    For example, hairdressers don't drive RX-8s.

    Keep pistons in the Miata and go big on the new RX. No more than 2,500 pounds. Two doors. Outstanding use of the new KODO design. Three rotors. Flappy paddles. Direct injection to clean up emissions.

    It should be a world-class sports car, on par with a 997, Corvette, NSX, M-B SL, M3.

    Maybe they'll do a Caymen/Boxter thing. Coupe will have a rotary and convertible a piston engine.
